Who are these people?

I guess it could of been a stock photo or someones family or holiday photo from the dev team like Cub says and they photoshopped (or whatever equivalent software) Chris into it.

Still I like all the ideas people have (and will) come up with! :)

So by 'art' you're going with a variation on the Monet theory then?

It seems as if the camera's elevation is higher than the gray-haired man's height. Either the cameraman was a very tall man, or this photo screams of a studio job. Tex ain't exactly short, & his father doesn't look to be either.

Could have been taken from within the house... Maybe you have to step down to get onto the Balcony??? If a window was open or that is the location of the Door leading to the Balcony, could very easily be someone of average height...

I see exactly what you're saying, but it doesn't seem like a Huge Difference in Height either... So it is still possible to be a Legit photo...
The picture is coming in at a slight angle, you can tell by how the table appears, it looks like everything should slide off towards the photographer...
Technology wasn't as good back in 94-95 as it is today, I think we'd be able to tell if anything had been photo shopped into the picture...

It's so much fun trying to interpret the little things... Watch, once we find out the answer {if we find out}, we'll all probably be wrong... lol

Won't disagree with us probably being wrong. That's what speculating is all about. But I think it'd be cool to know how right we were in our wrongness.

Maybe next time AC comes on the board he'll be kind enough to drop this thread a small note and let us know...

I agree with you, I'd like to know how close any of us might be as well...

One of the interesting things about the person that looks like Chris is that he seems to be left handed. It seems to me that he is holding a plate or a saucer in his right hand, and a fork or spoon, or cup in his left.

Is Chris left handed? I just cannot recall from the games if he is or not.
Played it once, stuck for life.
The laptop photo kinda looks like the kids looking through the Tex hole in the ceiling, but I don't think it is, maybe it's a real family photo that they emulated for the hole shot earlier in the game.

Also does anyone see Chris' brother in the reunion shot? That would be another strong indication that it was an actual family photo. However my gut tells me they are most likely stock photos OR guys at Access having fun and dressing up for photos, but that seems like too much work for people who have to finish a game in time.

I do, looks like the guy sitting down... at least, I see a resemblance. For those of you who are asking "Chris' brother?" he was the one who played Mac Malden.

-Cub. =o)
If you want to put a family-photo-looking picture in a published commercial game, it is much more expedient to use one's own family photos because it saves you all the fuss of having to get a release from the copyright holder of the picture.

There are many other pictures and paintings in the game that are obviously not family photos, so they must have gone through the trouble of getting the rights to use them. But whenever it's possible to simplify things by using your own pics, I'd bet that's what they would do.

If you've got your own family photos, why bother with all the trouble of buying and licensing someone else's? I'd bet on a genuine Jones family reunion photo.
Ha ha, all this analysis is great!

Those of you talking about perspective: Keep in mind that both are in-game screenshots taken from Tex's POV, so the image is slightly skewed (in more ways than one?).

Here's a smaller one, BTW:

Here's a skewed to frame version slightly blurred:

I see what you are saying, but a lot of the posters and pictures around the game aren't anything that I noticed of being famous art or anything... So it's possible that all of those are creations of the game's artists...
I could be wrong, about them not being famous paintings or something, but they are nothing that I recognized...

Does anyone recognize the various pictures are the game as Famous recreations???

Yeah I'm fairly certain myself that it's a Jones' Family get together, maybe not something as extensive as a Reunion, but a get together nonetheless...
Looks like everyone is decently dressed as well, maybe they were out somewhere before hand or getting ready to go out somewhere to celebrate something... Because I don't know how CJ is in regular life, but I don't dress with a Sweater draped over my shoulders just for a little family gathering... And if that's his Mom in the Blue, that's looks a bit more than just Casual as well...
They just look a bit well dressed for a run of the mill day...
