They Kill, Really??? Wow... I saw some of the Rescue operations after the Quake and they looked like all they wanted to do was Hug all the time, always look like they are trying to hold hands if there is a human close enough... Just seem like they always want to be lovable...

Anatomic, behavioral, and biochemical data have been used to place pandas with bears (family Ursidae), with raccoons (Procyonidae), or in a family of their own (Ailuridae). Improved molecular analysis made during the 1990s strongly suggest bears as the giant panda’s closest relatives, and many of their behavioral and reproductive characteristics are consistent with this placement.
So it would seem that they are indeed Bears... Though the Raccoon theory had merit in the older days until Molecular Analysis was more defined in recent years...

Chill the frell out. Everybody.

You're right Fred... hence why I stated that we will never really know the true outcome so we might as well not get worked up over something that will never be truly concluded. Might as well let China enjoy the games just as much as any other host country has over the years without trying to cheapen their outstanding commitment. We all know there is politics involved, but it's about the athletes and their time to shine, so we must get past the political bullshit for once.

I guess the only thing that gets under my skin is people who call the Olympics a joke. Athletes work hard their whole lives for this opportunity to shine, and to deem such an event that gives them that opportunity a 'joke' is downright disrespectful.

-Cub. =o)
I would never call it a Joke, and I know you weren't naming names, I'm just saying I don't think of it as a Joke... I just don't find it all that entertaining myself... Just like I'm not a Fan of Baseball or Football or Basketball or Sports in General... I myself am more of a Doer than a Spectator...

I don't think they will investigate even after the Olympics are over... There just won't be much of a point to it...
Olympics have about another week to go or so, right???
I think they end this coming weekend, but I'm not sure...

China put out over 40 Billion in getting ready for this, I wonder how much of that they've gotten back from sales of this or that...

Don't think they invested that money with the hopes of seeing any kind of monetary return. I think they got some different kinda bang for their buck.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!

Yeah I know about the molecular discoveries but it's still argued! Notice the wording "strongly suggests," and that is the problem it didn't prove anything. So there are still just as many studies claiming it's a member of the Procyonidae as Ailuridae and Ursida. It's kind of silly to me. I mean look at them. Do they look like a racoon?

As for the olympics being a joke... they are. I live in a city where quite a few of the athletes train (in the same facility I used to train in) and it's a joke. Anyone who thinks it's a fair balanced competition of man vs man (or woman vs woman) is mistaken. There are reasons the Americans win so many medals. They have better equipment and more devious methods of cheating. When Gold Medal winners have announced they were cheating and are now in prison for lying about it....

They're the ones who made it a joke and they're the ones the athletes who work their ass off fairly should be mad at.
Yes and No on the Raccoon Look... Some of the coloring, but at the same time they are White where Raccoons are mostly Gray... Panda has black circles around the eyes, not a black stripe...
But by the Majority they are classified as Bear, but we can just stick with calling them Pandas, no classification required... :D

Hmmm... an official investigation has now been requested by the IOC. They claim new evidence came to light and said 3 gymnists ages were in question. Also a medal winner from a past Chinese team admitted that she was only 14 when she won her medals in 2000 and had lied about her age with a fake passport.
Cold Hard Witness is always good Evidence...
