Tex Murphy @ MSN Groups... R.I.P.
Well, MSN groups is finally shutting down to make room for the new group networking entity "Multiply"... being an administrator of the site (along with a couple of others) I was given the option of migrating the MSN site to the new system, however there were errors in the process and I have decided to let it go all together.
The last time a message was posted in that community was over 2 and a half years ago, so its safe to say that it is clearly dead. Also, I had gotten sick of only visiting the site to remove spam messages. There used to be a Chat room there which was a neat feature, but ever since it got taken off (they abolished that chat rooms on all MSN communities for some reason) the website held no value, and simply instructed users to come here.
For those of you who want to see the site and its content before it is taken down in February 2009, visit here: http://groups.msn.com/texmurphy
There are some photos there some people might want to save for safe keeping, including a goofy pic of Fred, a few other members (both current and since gone) and of course Ripley.

Hey, cool - I see my post is still there - damn, that was sent a looong time ago, 4/2/2006! I guess that community really is dead, especially since that's the last post on there
I think that's right around the time I joined here too - yes, it is I, Amory...Amory Rockefeller

I miss Ripley and her posts still. Seeing her photo, it was like she never left.

I wonder if Yahoo! Groups will go the same way?
This chat with AC is quite a gem. Saved it to my computer.

That's very honest.

...then, this woman in our marketing department - who functions remarkably well considering her two-digit IQ and small town hickness - thought the title was "Poisoned Pond"...
Hehe, I remember that chat. I was "Ruri". It was a very good one.joliet_jane wrote:I wonder if Yahoo! Groups will go the same way?

don't worry JJ... that chat-log is actually embedded directly on my site (Pro Vision Media), so it's not going anywhere. And yes, it was an awesome chat... despite the constant hassles in trying to get AC logged into the room.joliet_jane wrote:I wonder if Yahoo! Groups will go the same way?
