Dilsey Pope

Well, everything is NOT black and white, so to speak. On a side note, my wife and I saw an opera last month entitled Margaret Garner (written about 5 years ago). It concerned the same subject: slavery. It was a tragic opera that had us totally mesmerized.

Changes have to start somewhere with someone...

A man once said, "Don't try to be a Great Man, just be a Man and let History make its own decisions"...

As for W. Bush, I don't think History is going to be very kind...


As for the Dilsey Pope story, tragic stuff indeed... Just goes to show how far we've come in just a short time...

Just because people are arguing the right to let them Marry doesn't make them the "New Black"... As long as they are persistent the government will eventually back down... Not that it should have to be a fighting game in the first place though...

I for one don't agree with the way the states and government are handling all this Marriage BS... They wanna Marry, let 'em... It doesn't do anybody any harm... All it does is ruffle the feathers of those who are scared of something Different...

How can you say that??? In just over a month we are going to have a Black Man sitting in the Oval Office... If that isn't progress given this country's 250 year history, I don't know what is...

Death threats, racially motivated killings and rampant discrimation. etc. We should be beyond this. Progress, yes, but nowhere near enough.

I won't argue you that at all... We should indeed be beyond it... I don't think the Human Race will ever see a day where it doesn't Discriminate in one way or another... I just don't think the Human Race is capable of that kind of Unity...

On one of my shows I had a disagreement with my co-host about why I though the united states should legalize gay marriage. Though I think his arguments were flawed from a American government stand point. He wasn't motivated by hatred or anger, and that is always a good thing.

Too Much is motivated by Hatred these days and in days of old... Hatred is the one Constant you will find in Human History... In one way or another Hatred is a root of just about anything in History...
Crusades, hatred between religious factions... Any War, hatred for one side or the other stemmed it... And just about any other Achievement in Human History, one way or another it is most likely Hate Driven...
Though it may be taught in a bright light as a good thing, you can most likely find Hatred somewhere...
