Donating After Kickstarter

Given that some people will only pay with paypal, there will be a number of donations that occur post-Kickstarter, but there's another category of people that would also use Paypal after the Kickstarter drive: those who want to keep donating by month. That is, I'd like to support up to a certain amount, a high amount, but it's difficult for me to do it in one lump sum. So, for the three months immediately following the Kickstarter drive, I'll be donating three more times to hit what I would like to fully donate.

Whether or not I receive the incentive I would have gotten if I could do it in one lump sum is not really a concern (though I do have a question in with the guys about it), though it would be nice and I imagine there are plenty of other people too that would be able to donate more each month as each paycheck or whatever comes through. What do you guys think? I mean it can't hurt to do it this way, even though Kickstarter doesn't allow for it. Though now I think about it, that would be a GREAT feature for Kickstarter to implement that would not only help projects but provide more, ongoing revenue for the site as well, instead of losing it all to paypal.

Oh right, I have no doubt about that. I was just talking about the idea of doing a monthly pledge for a few months after Kickstarter and what people thought of that idea and if it applied to them as it does me.
It's the goal that matters. If the goal isn't met, no one gets anything, and we'll cry a lot.

If you have a credit card, you can make a big payment and then pay off the minimum or however much you can. I have a rewards card so I always pay my balance-- and I'll have to dip into my savings to do it.

Squeezing the lump out really hurts, but once you get it out we'll all feel relieved.
Well my current lump is pretty big, but I just can't swing $5000 in one month. And I got rid of my credit cards a couple of years ago after paying them off. They were way too tempting in my hands.
I'd say that is a discussion worth having after we reach our goal. Even giving people a 60 day extended window on PayPal for reward eligibility could allow people to pull some tricks.

There might be a guide coming soon for other options than credit card.

One no-fee way is with Amazon gift cards which you can't overspend with since they're only good for the amount that you purchase them with. They go into the thousands if you get them via the Amazon website or you can get lower amounts from shops and such. You can apparently buy multiple over time if wanting to increase a pledge later and they go into a "Gift Card" balance on your Amazon according to what some have said, so some could gradually build that up and increase/manage a pledge over the month.

Most sites have the Gift Card page at /gp/gc for example:

After the goal is met PayPal is definitely an option. Here's hoping that happens way before the end of the deadline so that PayPal can be opened up earlier.

Anyone aware of or know how I can find a decent credit card with low starting interest? Given that I'll pay it off in 3 months, maybe there's one with an introductory APR of like 1% or something so I'll barely pay any interest at all.
How about the Amazon Visa credit card?

They'll give you $30 free for signing up. I have a friend who has this card and she likes it.
Coincidentally, I just got one of those pre-approved credit card things in the mail, and while I usually just junk them, this one actually got my attention. It's an American Airlines Rewards credit card, and I just so happen to have been collecting frequent flyer miles with American Airlines for the past couple of years (I'm almost to my goal of flying roundtrip to Europe and back first class :D )

So, wish me luck with my credit application, and if so, it'll be another big boost to the Kickstarter drive.
My Electronics Shop credit card doesn't work with Kickstarter.

I may cry too. I may be wrong about this, but I think I read an article with CJ talking. He said that if you make a certain amount of money thats close to your goal that they would negotiate how much BFG would keep some of the money? Maybe I'm imagining it for my own reasons.
