Tex Murphy Web Sites... Where are they?

Hey ho everyone. You know, I was going threw my old bookmarks on my list the other day, and I noticed something funny. Most all of the old Tex Murphy web sites have dissapeared or abandoned. Let me just list a few here:

Alcatraz A Tex Murphy Site (last updated in 2003)
Tex Murphy Boulevard (last updated in 2002)
Tex Murphy World (last updated in 2002)
Texmurphy.cjb.net (gone)
Texmurphy.com (gone)

Now the last two surprised me. Those two have been around since forever! UTMW is the only site that is kept up and running. I was wondering if anyone knows where these web sites went!? If anyone here knows the web masters of any of these sites (or they may be reading this), lets hear from you! Let us know your alive. Lets let Tex grow in numbers instead of one light house. Anywho, later.

Oh well, I guess after this community picked up so much, and I got older and tackled more responsibilities, things kinda slipped away.

I sometims go there for a trip down memory lane.

So in regards to the owners of thsoe sites:

Alcatraz A Tex Murphy Site = Matthew Buckstein
Tex Murphy Boulevard = Cubase
Tex Murphy World = Ryan Patton
Texmurphy.cjb.net (gone) = Chris Marsland (was called Coit Tower)
Texmurphy.com (gone) = Stefan

I hard to keep a site going on basically no new information. The sites literally didnt have anything to update so its not suprising they havent. The only reason this site is still up is because of the direct link to the creators, and the forums.

Not to mention that unofficialtexmurphy.com is considered by many to be the definitive source for new info, and surprisingly is the most official site (with regards to contributions from the official ex-Access Soft guys and Adrian Carr).

I haven't update my UTMW site since 2002 lately. Honestly, I totally forgot my username/pass to enter the Geocities/Angelfire since it's been 4 years since I last update it. I was going to add Nicole 11:11 (Pandora Directive) whom I did interview with last Feb of 05 on my UTMW site but lost my interview with Nicole in my email. I thought on old UTM message forum the one I post with Nicole interview for you all but no longer there or disappeared from the system.
actually same here... i forgot the password after a while too and geocities joined with yahoo and all that... plus it is hard to update when there's nothing new to add... and this is really a great community...

so yeah, what everyone else just said.

my page is still up though:

http://www.geocities.com/murphymemorial/Tex.html

but hasn't been updated since '01. i like to keep the fan fic stuff there though... unless someone makes a cooler fan fic page.

does matthew buckstein still post anymore (or wait isn't that the unofficaltexmurphy guy)? he kind of ran the other message board didn't he?

The last time I heard from Matthew Buckstein a few years ago was that he was heading to college somewhere in Canada since he is Candian of getting Biology degree or was it Phd. degree. He haven't update his site in a while and I think he posted on old message forum few years ago but can't remember. I dunno if he still use his email or not.

No, I think that would be me. :) *raises hand*
I still have Matthew Buckstein on my MSN list, and he used to always be on... never really spoke though. He is not on as often... but I will give him a shout when I see him again and see if he can drop us a line.

I always get a weird feeling visiting the old Tex Murphy websites... kind of like walking through a ghost town. It actually a good thing too, becuase it reminds me of the days of playing the Tex gaming and knowing that in a couple of years time we would have another adventure up our sleeves.

Oh well... such is the web and its ability to freeze space and time.

It's kind of a shame... the last post on my Tex site is dated April 30, 2002. I never did complete the site's contents... I just got busy. But I'll never take down what's there and maybe one of these days I'll go back and finish it up.
