1. I only paid $10 for this copy of Vista
2. My XP has been fucked up by hackers trying to destroy my system (Hence why I've stopped using it)
3. Vista is the only OS that is working atm that doesn't crash and lock me out everytime I open up photoshop CS3.

If I had XP working properly I'd use that.. but I don't. So I'm going to reinstall Vista on this system because my Vista too has started acting funny (it doesn't load my profile anymore which is quite annoying) so I need to do a clean install.

Again I'd use XP but I don't have a legal serial code hence I'd get locked out of my system, whereas my Vista is 100% legal.

A couple reasons why MicroSoft was desparate to release Vista too soon.

As you know, MicroSoft never had an original idea. They steal everything.

Back in 2003, a Sun MicroSystems employee started developing Project looking Glass in his spare time, and Sun decided to fully support it.

Take a look of some Project Looking Glass screen shots here:
http://www.sun.com/software/looking_glass/details.xml

These pictures are about three years old. It is easy to see that MicroSoft stole looking glass in every detail. MS was desperate to copy Looking Glass and get it out before the general population became aware of Looking Glass. There are a couple of reasons MS was desperate about this. First, Looking Glass is written in Java (competes wih MS's .Net) Also, Looking Glass was providing a superior window environment for competing platforms, like Linux.

So MS had to steal Looking Glass and then pretend like it was their own.

Did I mention that Looking Glass also runs on Windows? Who needs Vista?

As a side note, the only thing that Vista offers over XP is 64bit capability.

Yeah I knew that ages ago. The 3D API was a total ripoff of the Java LG system.

Doesn't XP offer 64-bit capability, aka Windows XP x64?

Hmm i was gone get vista for a spare system i had but i see i would be better of leaving it for at least another year or 2.

i am using screan magnification software that is not suported by vista, as usual MS changed they way screans are build up and hence the software wont work properly yet.

The same thing hapened with XP and Ofice XP ohh lets add images as flouting objects in word XP hence my software could not show images in word no more.

ahh well if i get u all corect back to XP for me

Microsoft blows! *Shells out more money to them ..*

You ... suck! But ultimatly ... I can't ... stop ... BUYING! ...

ARRRRGGGHHH THE EVILNESS!!

They've all but assimilated me. I still complain, but I feel like the child complaining about his parent. Yeah, I could get a new parent, but going through children services is a pain in the arse, and I'd be much better off working with what I have. But if I wanted to spite Microsoft, I'd call children services in a heartbeat (Apple).

Two points:

The original post in this thread complained bitterly that DOSBox couldn't run UAKM under Windows Vista. There's no announcement anywhere on the DOSBox site that DOSBox works properly with Vista yet, and I would assume that's quite a ways away.

As to all the badmouthing of Vista on this thread - absolutely consistent with everything I've heard. When Vista was launched, Dell was taking the position that all new computers they sold would run Vista, period. So many users complained so bitterly that Dell had to back off and now gives buyers a choice of XP or Vista.
