Just an idea.....
Also - Malloy? Contact Jim TOG about any missing cd's. I'm sure he can either help you replace it or whip you up a spare.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
This sounds like a fun idea. I especially like the chat room idea.
I don't know if I would actually join in with playing though. Perhaps. Depends on time of course. I'm always pretty busy these days. Also I think I recently replayed Overseer and UAKM and I like to give it time to make me forget points etc. But on the other hand I do need to get back into gaming at home on my PS2 or PC (instead of just grabbing the small and convenient Nintendo DS which is supposed to be reserved for work lunchtimes =p )
As for Pandora Directive, I'm sort of saving seeing that again for when I get a friend to play it (whilst I watch), it may be that they don't really get into it and don't play it all the way but still, just incase, I want to forget as much as I can (I still remember quite alot though of course...). They have a projector / screen which they can hook up to their PC too so thats another reason
But I doubt any of that will happen for a loong time.
(Even though Pandora is later in Tex's timeline I figure its the most popular and probably a good one to start someone on, and each of the Tex games dont really require you to have played the previous game)
However for UAKM / Overseer, whether I play or not I'd still be keen on popping on the chat and joining in discussion
(Do warn me on the forum when its Pandora time though!)
I'm fairly sure all of the trilogy still works on my computer... I seem to remember replaying UAKM / Overseer not that long ago. Can't remember what I did though for UAKM.

Very nice concept, i'd love to play a role providing that XP makes provision for it to work. I'd like to add 1 thing to your idea, a rule: Gamer mode only, not Entertainment. This will allow us to work on the solutions together where we are stuck and build upon the whole "team effort" idea. I'd love to do this though.Jen wrote:how many of us can still get the "trilogy" to work on some sort of computer??
Cause I was just thinking. Instead of a book club kind of thing, how about a group replay of the Tex games???
Taking it slow....maybe one or two (Tex) days of game play a week. Because we've all got jobs, obligations, etc. Then we can all get together and talk about them again, with the gameplay still fresh in our minds. Talk about the puzzles, the one liners. Stuff like that.
I can totally commit to a few hours of that a week. I think it'd be a blast.
We've got some techies around to help out getting things loaded...maybe??? Nilo and Melting seemed to be the experts on this. There are others here too.
I'd love to at least do UAKM or the "crown jewel" PD. It seems that most have played them.
Any thoughts??????????
Crap, I don't know if I can do gamer mode. I'll give it a try. So how about we start up Pandora, day 1, a week from now? Start a thread, then get discussin. As far as I'm concerned, we can play any path we'd like. Adds a bit of variety. The gameplay would be much the same, but a little different flavor......
I'm actually getting a wee bit excited.

It just occurred to me ... that I'm interested in what is so dang important that you have no time for Tex Murphy!!! Hope I catch you before you rush off.netroam wrote: Another reason I may not have all that much time these days to replay the games is actually quite a positive reason seeing as how my life these days have made a turn for the better ... I'll explain more about this if anyone's interested...
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
After completing the day, I have only a few questions to ask.
1.) Did anyone else spend more time than they should looking at the painting to try and find a naked woman in it? Nilo "said" there was one in it.
2.) Why did I never notice the outline of the "last tenet who skipped out on his rent"?! That was new to me.
3.) Pink fluffy cup cake things!?!?!?!?!?!
4.) "I hear weiner world put tater tots on the menu" *Slaps forehead* (Yeah not really a question.)
5.) Why do I hate crossword puzzles so much?
6.) "A gentleman of the old school like myself .. would never enter the forbidden zone." ... But what if I was trying to remove the camera Nilo put in?!
7.) How come Tex never makes the connection with Regan before she mentions who she is? Makes the photo seem worthless.
8.) Day two, I'm going for the cabin in Oregon. Anybody else?
9.) What's a weblos days?
10.) Silly me, when I first played this, and I was in the office, I remember looking at the footprints on the floor, and saying "Wow my first clue! Someone left shoe prints!" ... Stupid dance studio. (second one that isn't a question, I guess.)
11.) Finally ... What if I don't want to go out with chelsea, huh? What if like I think she's too ... too ... something, and Tex doesn't need her anyway?! With all the torturing I plan to do of Rook, I'll be doing the boulevard for sure. Eventually, when I meet her, Regan and I are going to get real rich. (Well real dead, but we'll *think* we're getting real rich.) As for now, I got knocked out again, and it's day two.

Wow, my first interested individualMr. Thomas Malloy wrote:It just occurred to me ... that I'm interested in what is so dang important that you have no time for Tex Murphy!!! Hope I catch you before you rush off.
Anyway - I will love the Tex Murphy games until the day I die, but unfortunately I haven't got much time as of late to play the games. I just returned home from holiday in Southern Spain (Málaga to be exact) yesterday which was a superb holiday which I enjoyed very much. But that's another story - hehe
Lately my life - as I said above - has made a turn for the better and that's a really great and positive change. Here's a short-list of the changes in my life within the last months:
Positive happenings
- Work has been really tough, but has paid off as I over the course of 4 months has got a raise twice and am now paid 4.000 DKK (about 760 USD) more a month before taxes which is quite a nice raise in my opinion

- My love-life is doing greeeat! I just found a wonderful girlfriend only 2 months ago, so I'm a really happy guy (She also went with me to Málaga last week btw.). So obviously I get to spend quite a lot of time with her rather than playing the Tex games these days

- I finally managed to pull myself together and buy both the UAKM and Pandora novels from Amazon, and I've started reading UAKM now. I've reached chapter 16 or 17 already, and I'm not at all disappointed. Very exciting reading and great that it's not a complete "re-make" of the game but has different variations and story-lines. Great humour as well. Can't wait to read more and also to get to read Pandora as well

- My computer decided several weeks ago to start failing on me. It seems to me that the power supply for my computer is about to crash anytime it feels like it. Sometimes I have to try turning on the computer for 30 minutes without success and sometimes I can turn it on after a few tries. In any case I have to switch the computer off and on at the back and then try to boot it up - and that can take from 1 minute to 1 hour depending on the mood of the computer on that particular day. Last night as I returned home from holiday it wouldn't boot up at all. However, I have bought a new power supply from an online store but they still haven't got it in stock. Hopefully they'll send it soon, so the computer can stop bugging me all the time
