I think we as a community should decide. It's "unofficial" anyway.
Cheers!

The contest is still happening, I am still waiting for some R&D to complete before I can say the official rules and WHEN the contest will be happening. In the meantime folks think of ideas and voice your opinion on how this vote should go down and how we choose a winner. As of this writing it's sitting at 4 votes. There should be a little more than that for a fair say from everyone.
Where are these posters at for viewing and voting???

Relax no one has submitted anything yet. I am just working out all the details and gathering information about how to go about the contest before I announce the actual start. When it officially begins I will ask James to kindly glue it to the top of the forum for all to see and vote. I would just like to know how to go about the voting at this point hence the poll at the top of this post. I will inform everyone about all the details in great detail when I officially announce the contest. Keep the votes comin'!
Well, hopefully we get some cool posters out of this little competition because I'm gonna take the best one and get it blown up really big and printed out like a sticker and put it on the side of this old arcade cabinet I have in the garage and I'm gonna make me a Tex Murphy stand up arcade game with all the games stored on the the cpu....cool idea huh?

Well you're talking to the right man my friend, the person that makes these posters, prints vinyl signs and so the exact same prints that everyone gets for these mounted boards you can get on a gigantic sticker for it. Also if you have a van or a bus that needs to be covered he can do that too. I got him to print up a couple 1x1 foot stickers for my arcade cabinet and they turned out well. I can't remember what forum post I had a picture of it in but it's in the background in a few of them if you check it out. He also printed up the marquee. (the sign on the front)

Here's a shot of the arcade machine without the stickers on the side but you can see the marquee

If you have any further questions feel free to post.
Nice mame cabinent Stu. Do you have just the early arcade stuff in there or console's too? Looks sweet. Actually...one of these years when we finally get our house built, I want a pinball machine. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted one like you would not believe. Apartment living isn't condusive to it, so I've been without. But within the next 9-12 months, could be a reality.

Torn between indiana jones, medeival madness, or LOTR. Xfiles and South Park are pretty good, but I want a classic. :D The new Family Guy machine is cool too, Stewie's got his own little playable pinball machine in the corner, and there's tons of dialogue.

....geek out.......

geez...I sure am awful for taking threads TOTALLY off track. It's a weakness.

OK, back on target. I am very eager to see what you guys can come up with as graphics and posters. I'll have to sit this one out sadly. I've got no mad art skillz.
Don't feel bad Jen..neither do I....you should consider Dracula or Nightmare on Elm Street..both of those are excellent....

How much does a pinball machine really cost and where can I purchase one?

Also, I distinctly remember playing Tales From the Crypt. Classic.

This looks like a great idea, not that I'm artistic in any way, but very cool nonetheless to see everyone's work.

I couldn't find shipping prices on the Link you left for the Pinball machines... What makes his prices the best???

Anyone here know how to build a Pinball Machine??? We should build a Tex Murphy Pinball Machine... Now that would be kewl... I'd buy one... Would have to talk the Wife into parking her car in the driveway instead of in the garage though...

yeah...a Tex Murphy pinabll game would definitely be the bomb....you could have New San Francisco at the back of the machine and down towards the bottom of the ramp near the flippers could be the wreckage of old San Francisco with Chandler Ave....man, it would be killer...

Something like a 1,000,000 points you'd get a message like "You Just Completed Under A Killing Moon"...
Or special little side missions that tell you to "Bust Rick Flemming"...

Tex Murphy Pinball would Rock...

Rick Flemming? You mean Mick Flemm? which, by the way, Mick flemm looks a lot like Kurt Rambis from the Lakers teams back in the 80's
