Sooo, seen any good bands lately?
Joel...
I'm not gonna quote everything you wrote, but I got just one little phrase for you... Actually I put it to you 2 ways, you take the one you like best... lol
Gotta Love Ticketmaster...
Gotta Hate Ticketmaster...
In your specific situation, I would probably choose the latter... I've been there, I know what you went through...

The funny thing there, Bafitis, is that I used to love them. That same kiosk I went to in the past to purchase tickets always used to give me the best tickets. For one concert, I got front row and centre, second for another and fourth for another one after that. So, in all fairness, their track record is quite good and like I said, they took ownership of the issue and didn't question what I had to say nor did they defend their lack of professionalism. It just pisses me because I know The Police won't ever tour again. Sting more or less expressed that in a recent interview where they said once the tour comes to a close this year, there is no intention to record any new music, do any more touring or work together in any way shape or form. But I suppose that has been said before
Do you know how many times Bands say that... Look at how many times Alabama has Retired or the Eagles... Bands do that all the time, just so when they announce this "One More Time", the outcome of fans is a huge onslaught... Take Garth Brooks, retired years ago, has cut 2 new songs in the past year alone, has had at least 2 concerts that I can think of off the top of my head, has done numerous interviews...
The list goes on, but you get the idea... Now Police could be serious, but if no one in the group is dying or has cancer, I wouldn't count them out just yet...

Oh definitely. Neil Finn stated that Crowded House would never reform, this was before and after the death of their former drummer, Paul Hester. In 2007 they released a new album, did a full world tour and are already working on a follow-up album and currently playing some live dates accross America.
The Verve also said they'd never reform, as did The Smashing Pumkins. I have a feeling the next big band to say they're back would be either The Smiths or Talking Heads.
So anything is possible.
But when it comes to The Police...I don't know, Sting has always been pretty definite. Don't forget, this latest tour was their first since they released their final studio album back in the 80's. Sure, the fanbase and demand is there, but their enthusiasm to be a band sounds toasted at best. But fingers crossed anyway.

You know, now that you mention it, I can really see the similarity between the two bands in the Sanitarium song. And you're right, Veterans of the Psychic Wars was excellent. I'm sure CCR without Fogerty will be great...but, it sure would be awesome if he were there too.TexMex wrote:To Adnis:
Metallica's always reminded me of BOC a lot. Their acoustic cover of Veterans of Psychic Wars is great. Sanitarium is where I started to notice it. Awesome song.
Fogerty hasn't been with CCR in a while. It sucks, cause his voice was so unique to the music. I'm sure it'll be awesome, though. I have faith in Fogerty-less CCR

Well I'm not really a Police fan or anything so I can't speak for Sting... I do know that Garth Brooks was never really a BSer either, but he was still brought back... Sometimes they will say one thing, but then realize, "You Know, I Just Can't Live Without Rockin' Out"... Then you have your Rebirth of this band or that band and the Fans go wild...

Yeah, but even if he did Just Go Home... I think he would probably be dead by now... Unless her really, really, really started taking care of himself... His 73rd B-Day was just Celebrated in January... So not sure if he would be singing so much... The flight back from his home might kill him alone...

I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
that's how i'll feel about Metallica when 2011 rolls around. And it's not that far off...I saw them in Louisville a couple of years ago on the "Madly in Anger with the World Tour" and they played with the enthusiasm of a group of teenagers....just great show every time they play.

I'd love to see Metallica, but I wish they wouldn't over-saturate their setlists with 1980's material. I'd love to hear them do some stuff from the Black Album/Load/ReLoad/Garage era too.adninsreaction wrote:that's how i'll feel about Metallica when 2011 rolls around. I saw Metallica in the mid 90s near the end of high school... They were awesome... Couldn't hear for 2 days, if memory serves...

If you go to LiveMetallica.com, you can see their set lists from their most recent tours and you can download the shows for only $10 apiece. Not bad for a 2 hour show. But you would be surprised some of the stuff they have been playing in recent memory. When it was the 20th anniversary of Master of Puppets, each show they played the whole cd from beginning to end. They really have been mixing it up a lot lately with stuff from Black and Load.
