And 2008 churns onward

McDonis the title "And 2008 churns onward" is a reference to all the deaths that have happened this year. I'm kind of sick of the articles. Even if our healthcare is the best in the world it still is horrible compared to what it could be.
Bernie Mac dead at 50.

Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.

She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.
And there was this item in the Melbourne Hereld Sun today:
Yesterday, it was reported in America that Newman, 83, had only weeks to live and had returned home to his wife, Joanne Woodward.

"Paul didn't want to die in the hospital," a source said. "Joanne and his daughters are beside themselves with grief."
2008 shaping up to go down as the worst year of the Century and the bad thing is, we are only 7 1/2 years into the Century...

Newman turned over his company of Salad Dressing to Charity... Just about all the profits from that company went to charity anyway though...

Sad news on both accounts, especially Bernie Mac. Totally unexpected. Great losses to the entertainment industry and to millions of fans.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
2008 shaping up to go down as the worst year of the Century and the bad thing is, we are only 7 1/2 years into the Century...
The way you put it, this is actually a good thing. First of all, since we're only 7 1/2 years into the Century, that means there's only been seven years better. Also, if it really turns out that, by the end of the Century, that 2008 is the worst year, that means that this is as bad as it gets, and we can look forward to 92 better years to come.

I'd say that's a pretty rosy picture.
That's a good way to look at it Doc, but most of us here on the Boards won't make it to 2050 much less 2100... lol So half of those 92 years won't matter to us...

As for Bernie Mac, he had a Long Time Lung Disease on top of getting the Pneumonia... Something to do with an Inflammatory problem...
