Severance Packages???
I know it sucks Baf... but its the universal constant that nobody makes that kind of money unless someone somewhere down the line is getting completely screwed over.
From my experiences in the workplace (which I understand are probably no where near as extensive as some of the older folks here) you realise that unless you are at the top of a company you created, or nurtured it to the top and stayed as the head honcho, you can almost guarantee that you had to sell a few souls to get to the top position. And as the positions get higher, while the work may seem lighter in everyone's opinion, one must not forget the most important thing is the responsibility one takes on in such a position. If I was head honcho at the company I work at I can almost guarantee I would be working less harder than I am now, but I would get paid more becuase I carry the weight and responsibility of the whole company.
Whether one takes their bag of money and screws everybody else when the $#it hits the fan, or takes genuine responsibility is up to them. Unfortunately, it is almost always the former that is most common.
