Indigo Prophecy -- SPOILER FREE

Censorship: The Adventure.

You'd think with the industry growing up (the average gamer is now 18-35) they'd be okay with something you can see on HBO making it into an M-rated game.

Still, as the old (and super bad) Worlds of Power novels show, censorship isn't always about making sense.

Take the Metal Gear book. Anybody remember the cartrigde, with Snake holding a gun up at chest height with both hands? Well, the book has that cover, except with the gun painted out so that it looked like, as my buddy Sharkey put it in his review, "like Snake is making a vague, masturbatory gesture"

It's a funny read, and you can catch it right here: http://www.solidsharkey.com/wop1.html

Hehe, thanks for that.

I guess I could understand if it were Lucas who were nude--we tend to make male nudity out to be worse than female. Not saying I agree or disagree with it, just making the observation.

I wonder if it was more economics based rather than culturally--like you said, with the core demographic being older, maybe they're trying to cater to a group other than that. I don't know, I'm just throwing out ideas in the wee hours before I go to sleep.
Reminds me of the movie, "Young Adam", with Ewen McGregor. The original version in England features him nude. The American version censors it. He wasn't too happy.
