I agree, this is the only chance we'll get. They did say "additional story" in the stretch goals such as in the 30% one can mean even something as memorable an addition as David Wright's cabin in Pandora Directive. It would be a shame to miss out on those kinds of locations that really add a lot to the game. As well as of course all the extra gameplay/characters/story and such and the further extension to Chandler Avenue. Assuming the orchestra/golf etc. isn't up your street there really is something for everyone. Hope we can get there.

With PayPal, we are now beyond the point of getting our first of the Magnificent Two to add their $4,000. So we're really in excess of $550,000 now!

Cool good to hear

I think they need a new name like the Defiant Duo (defiant of us not getting the final stretch goal), Daring Duo (daring us to push further). Tantalizing Two (teasing us up to the final stretch), Terrific Two. Or some other D or T alliteration word.

yep paypal has yesterdays figure of $4588 + another $4,000 has been added that we know. With the first magnificent 7 funding should bring up to $554,000.
In a few hours we should have the current paypal figure but I am tipping it will not be much extra so we will need another $12K to get to 566K

what i secretly wanted was the 2 guys not reaching the goal and
imagine all the people that being in despair would go to tex kickstarter page and pledge their unaccepted money...
sorry for being too heartfelt and evil

Look, I love me some stretch goals, but even Morlock Golf isn't as cool as having a
whole other awesome 90s adventure game revival. Two games is definitely better than one, here.
Also, the Two Guys wasn't really in failing range if you know a lot about how Kickstarter works. No project with more than 50% funding and more than 500 backers has ever failed, in the 45,000 campaigns on Kickstarter. So if they were short, people would have been even MORE overextended at the end. Helping out the Two Guys campaign was good karma and the right move, and I think a lot of that came back to us.
Of course it probably would have been better for both if the Two Guys planned better and waited until after Tex was done. Not just because of the competition, but because they were really underprepared for their campaign and should have taken more time to get ready anyway.

Just because I am how I am, I'm really really worried that BFG might have
accidentally violated Kickstarter's rules concerning contests and rewards.
So now, I can't help but think that the project will be cited and shut down, losing aaaalllll our hard work.
If that happened, no joke, I'd buy some stuff at Wal-mart, kick it to pieces on camera, and post it on YouTube. There really are no words to describe how I'd feel if everything was lost now because of something that stupid.

You know what? I've never played Space Quest and secretly felt the same way, and felt bad about it.

So when they made their goal I was happy for them.

Space Quest series are great games. Very funny and entertaining. I wasn't sure at first how much the Spaceventure Kickstarter would follow in Space Quest's footsteps though due to the lack of info at the start on who the character was going to be and the gameplay etc. Still I found the PDF they offered and the demo at the very end useful to deliver a lot of info in a short amount of time.
Its also great that a lot of Spaceventure people came over to Tex and have been very supportive and dedicated in promoting the Tex campaign since.
The contest isn't being offered as a reward. The Kickstarter FAQ specifies "What items are prohibited as rewards?" or for the other FAQ item that mentions no raffles: "What can be offered as a reward?". When people pledge up to be entered into the prize draw they are still getting guaranteed rewards that arent part of any prize draw or raffle.
They're not the first to use this method either:
