My Kickstarter Account

If they did, i'd be writing to them demanding that they pay me to pledge their projects. Goddamn fools!

Amazon does not put a hold on the total amount pledged, so don't worry about that, I haven't seem them put a hold on my funds for any previous Kickstarter. BUT.......

Maybe look into a prepaid credit card. There might be financial establishments where you are that can take a certified check from where ever your funds are coming from, and put it into a CC that you can use through Amazon. Remember though to put a few bucks more than what you want to charge on it, as Amazon will do a buck or so hold on the card, checking it to make sure it's valid.

OR....you can wait till the project is completely funded, with a cushion, like Jane's did, and they could open the Paypal option, which you can use your checking account.

Ooh very useful to know joliet_jane, thanks!

I checked on Amazon and I noticed they have options on the website for BIG amounts (over $5000 and up to $10,000). they also mention "electronic gift codes" you can download and use. Payment methods seem to include bank transfer or maybe check etc.
Self-Service Purchases

Purchase gift cards directly from the Amazon.com web site
Instant delivery or Free One-Day Shipping on all orders
Maximum 400 cards per order and $10,000 per day. Restrictions apply
24/7 support from Amazon Customer Service
http://www.amazon.com/Corporate-Gift-Ce ... anding2009

But the other Amazon sites have similar pages under "Business" or "Corporate" or "Bulk Buying Options".

The amazon Card seems like a good option since it states it has no fees (unless your payment provider adds one e.g. Western Union). Whereas other prepaid cards often do have a application/purchase fee or a fee to add funds or something else. Or they have limits on how much you can add. Sometimes its just a small fixed fee but others are a variable percentage (which on 10,000 would be a lot).

I'm already backing a handful of projects, I hope they work out. There's some really good business opportunities there. I'd say if you pledge the right sum, you might just have a farily big role in the product. There's some great potential here.
I took a look. It's interesting that Dennis Hopper seems to have an unaired interview.

What's even more surprising is the disturbingly muted response to the project. It's clearly not going to make it, I really don't see why, it looks amazing.

No way to get a credit card from your bank?
One issue is some non-credit card methods can have fees per use, and for the kind of amount you're talking about even a 4% fee would be high, also some have a max limit similar to your debit card situation. Anyway let me know what country you're based in and I'll have a look at my notes as I've been doing some research about that.

I'll ask me bank in the morning and I am in the U.S.

I'll look into it tonight.

Now this annoys me to hell,

This person on adventure gamers stated that chris jones should have waited for jane to finish before he placed tex on kick starter. So I gave that person a mouthful, without trying to be rude. I had to restrain myself due to being so close to our deadline.

Chris Jones announced he would be having an announcement on 24 feb
did you mean 16 mar?

You know what? I really didn't know much about Kickstarter at all until Project Fedora was announced.

And Jane Jensen? I didn't know anything about her at all before that either.
I agree. I had heard about Kickstarter but didn't know much about it until the announcement about Tex. I just created a kickstarter account in anticipation of tomorrow and am now watching the countdown clock.
I didn't really know about Kickstarter either until I saw on Facebook someone was remastering "Manos the Hands of Fate" movie. (Yep, MST3K fan.) I didn't donate because I was unsure of what Kickstarter was, but I wish I had! I've backed 4 projects so far since the Project Fedora announcement, and I've learned more about how the website works.

MST3K is awesome. Sadly it wasn't really shown in the UK or released on video as far as I know. I never had the Sci-Fi channel but even if I had they apparently only showed a bit of one of the last seasons at a terrible time slot. So I only discovered the show later, but glad I did.

I agree. I was (and I guess am) a MST3K fan. They had some extremely hilarious episodes.

You showed an amazing amount of restraint. I salute you. Saw the post.
