tex murphy is back in town
We need $249,000 for that. I'd love to think we will today, but I think we'll just miss out. That said, we should hit somewhere around $255,000 tomorrow.

My maths say that 55% is 247,500.

???
I got that too, Jen. Maybe Joel's got rounding error.

True and correct. I was thinking the threshold requirement for Kickstarter percentages where the percentage is only achieved once it is hit rather than the rounded up equivalent. So I agree that $247,500 would do it, but a full figure would be nicer :)
245000 guarantees our daily quota. That's the only number I care about right now :P

My only worry is the steady decline in the amount of pledges. Of course we have to expect low days, but while the dollars remain steady, the backers have slowed down since day two by about 25 each day. I hope this stops soon.

Maybe we haven't tried our friends and relatives hard enough :P

I wouldn't be so concerned about the people as I would be the value of the dollars pledged. For example, on 21/05 we had the lowest number of people pledging but obtained $13,069 which beat the two previous days by $3000.

Indeed! Thinking the same thing, I just went on my Facebook page (wasteland that it is) and changed my profile pic to promote it. I even have an outstanding solicitation for a bribe saying that I'll change my pic to anything they like as long as they're the highest contributor to the Kickstarter campaign. :-)

(No takers so far, though. Apparently you have to actually interact with people on Facebook in order to show up in their feeds. I hate Facebook.)

You know, call me a dumb American, but it just now occurred to me: how does Kickstarter funding currency show up in other countries? Everyone's talking about pledges in U.S. dollars -- does everyone else have to convert their currency in order to figure out what to spend, or does Amazon Payments convert it for you? That would sorta stink.

Well, the Australian dollar is miraculously stronger than the American dollar, so technically I can pledge lower than the recorded amount on Kickstarter, but i'm too lazy to work out the conversion and i'm not that stingy.
I'm pretty sure I pledge in american dollars and let my credit card do the math. The difference amounts to pennies with our mighty Monopoly money however, so it's no big deal.

Well, we're over the $9000 mark for the day!

With or without the 55%, today is going to be a good day for the project, no doubt. It's been amazingly consistent for a first week. But a $20,000 day would be nice.
Frank, the daily quota has been met. $245,000!

So ideally we're looking for $10,000 per day for the duration of the project?
