120% tex stretch

The bigger problem with the raffle is those who are under the $75 and are at their maximum are feeling shafted by it. Hopefully they can come up with some compromise.

From the update video comments:
I already pledged 30 and that is the max I can go. Does this mean that if I pleged 15 and now another 15, I would enter the drawing, but not with the current 30????

What about international backers?

If that is the case, i am really put off by this.
Drat; I just upped my pledge $15 something 2 days ago. If I'd known this, I'd have held off until after this announcement. :-(

I do hope you guys can figure something out for folks like me.
Is the intention only to attract new 15$ backers as they get a more attractive offer than already existing backers that support the project from start? Imagine i'm a 30$ backer... maybe i should remove my pledge and create a new login, to only offer a 15$ pledge (it's not the case, i'm already in for the drawing, i want the boxed game)
Few hours ago i noticed the total pledged was $541 125, 2 hours later it has went down to $540 500... i think it's because the "Tex Memorabilia" drawing condition are unclrear and seems unfair.

AND : the update on the kickstarter page does not mention that a $15 pledge is enough to be in the draw for new backers (it's only mentionned in the video, and not everybody watch it as there is no caption, not even english ones)

As many i tink that the draw qualify should be added to a pledge ($30 or $50 pledges seems fine) New Backers would be invited to put directly a $30 or $50 pledge, and others should be tempted to upgrade their pledge to $30 or $50
I suppose a way to game the system would be to backout, then re-back at say $15 then add $15 as like many I pledged at $30, $45 held zero interest for me as I could care less about casual games... but IF it was a credit for a Tex game from gog I'd probably have gone for it as even though I already own them it's nice to have an online backup......and yeah up until this raffle thing they were doing a spectacular job on this KS although the raffle thing kind of knocked it down quite a bit in my view.
I dont understand this. If someone backs for $15 now, then they are eligible. But if you backed for more and supported the project early on, then you aren’t eligible unless you up the pledge again? How does that make sense? What if I cancel and pledge at $15 - does that make me eligible

Chris Jones & Aaron Conners says:

Hi João,

That is definitely a fair question and we hadn't thought of all the ramifications. You're point is valid. We will discuss this tonight and have an answer tomorrow.

As for international backers - they will not need to add shipping if they win one of the sixteen prizes we have listed. This is a prize they will have won.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

It's just a promotion. I don't see why people are getting upset. Big Finish doesn't owe you a spot on the raffle.

I think there are some fair points being made really and Chris and Aaron seem to agree. I am over the $75 mark but I can understand some of the feedback. I love the raffle idea though and like Chris and Aaron didn't really think about those ramifications, I'm sure they'll come up with something.

All the complainers can go **** themselves in their faceholes! I've pledged a lot and I am dipping into my savings to do it. It's a lot of money for me. So I DO NOT want to hear anyone b**** about not being able afford $75. At least you aren't losing as much money as I am.

RRRROOOOOAARR!!! :x

EDIT:
Sorry. I'm just thinking about what my next credit card bill will look like.
Also, this is why I pretty much never read the comments on Kickstarter. Some people.... not all people, but some people....
Ouch Jane... you're scaring me!
I think the way Chris and Aaron handled is a little better approach
Tex Memorabilia Drawing

There have been some issues brought to our attention since we first announced we will be giving away Tex memorabilia to backers of the campaign. We have amended some of the qualification to be more inclusive of everyone who has donated.

1) Everyone who has pledged at least $15 gets a chance at winning a piece of Tex memorabilia.

2) Anyone who upgrades their pledge by $15 from the time UPDATE 34 was launched has a chance at winning an upgrade to the $1,000 tier. 3 people in total will win an upgraded tier. If you are selected and have already pledged at the $1,000 tier, you will receive one of the Tex memorabilia pieces.

Because there have been some changes - we will draw the names of the winners on Thursday, June 21 and contact you through Kickstarter. You will have one week to respond to the email to claim your prize!

I'm sorry. :( I suppose my rationalization is that if someone feels entitled to bellyache about not being in the drawing, I should also be entitled to get mad at them getting mad considering the actual dollars I've put up.

Feeling butthurt on the internet is one thing, but losing a large amount of money is another. The first is partly imaginary, while the latter is very real and concrete.

But now that it's been remedied (I HOPE!), it doesn't matter. In other words: internet rrraaaage!
You know Jane, if you are having problems with it, I don't think any of us would blame you if you retracted some of your pledge. CJ and AC wouldn't want you to go eating off food stamps for the next two or three months. Just a thought.

Nah, I'm sticking to it. I want the signed hat too much to turn back :)

I'm happy to give AC and CJ plenty of support. But when a jerk who probably could give more too uses their $15 or $75 as an excuse to act entitled or even rude on the Kickstarter page, it's just personally insulting to me. Who do they think they are? :(
I didn't really see it as rude personally, some legitimately had just upped their pledge directly before the announcement to the most they could afford for example (everyone has different circumstances). Also there were some glaring loopholes (cancelling pledge and re-pledging on a different account to at least $15 as new backers at $15 and up were going to be included) that could of caused a lot of yoyoing on the total pledged. It was just constructive citicism.

I mean some called those who gave constructive criticism against DLC "whiners", "jerks" etc. But again I saw they had valid points. The campaign has gotten stronger due to listening to feedback :)

Well, the Davis Clipper in Utah really actually could say that the Tex Murphy Fedora Kickstarter is the most successful Kickstarter in the history of Davis County... if only they'd get up and actually do it!
