Adventure Game Thread

Good Morning Ladies and Germs!

I was just thinking to myself how I've always loved adventure games, but never had time to play that many ~ only a select few. I was wondering if in this thread we could start a list where each of us give the names of adventure games we've played in the past that are still worth playing for those of us that haven't caught up yet. And I'm talking about games that rank really highly on your list, not every game you've played - maybe scoring 7-10 out of 10. Here's my list:

Under a Killing Moon
The Pandora Directive
Tex Murphy: Overseer
Phantasmagoria

Bests, Rockefeller 8)
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do"

"ERROR: Error Code Does Not Indicate An Error"
Are we allowed to repeat what others say???

Tex's Adventures of course, ALL 5 OF THEM...

Phantasmagoria I & II...

11th Hour was pretty good...

A game called "Ripper" I never did get to finish it, can't remember why... It's 6 CDs long I remember that much... And I still have it, with Dosbox, maybe I can play it again... ;}

Wing Commander Series, especially III and all after...

Sierra's Famous Four, Collections; King's Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, & Leisure Suit Larry...

GUN...

The Journeyman Project 3: A Legacy In Time...

Metal Gear Series, ALL OF THEM...

Godfather...

Man I could go on, but will stop here, I have many favorites... Sometimes I run out of play time just trying to decide what to play and don't end up getting to play anything... lol
The Paved Straight Road, Won't Always Get You Farther Than The Winding Dirt Road...

There's a game that came out on PC years ago, but was also released on Sega Cd as a sequel to the Dracula story...it was called Dracula Unleashed...only one cd but lasts 4 days on the game...very good storyline, very good game interface...you play as Adam Morris, brother of the late Quincy Morris, brought to London to investigate the circumstances of your brothers death...I give it an 8 out of 10 for the gameplay and storyline of the time it was released...one of those games that I played over and over again.

Good Thread. :)

Ok so you asked for favorite games, there are some other adventure games I really like but these are my alltime favorites:

Gabriel Knight : Sins of the Fathers
Gabriel Knight II: The beast within
Gabriel Knight III: Blood of the sacred, blood of the damned
Obviously the Tex Murphy games especially Overseer and the pandora directive ( although Under a killing moon is one of my favorite games as well)
Phantasmagoria 1 ( gameplay is not that good, but I like the atmosphere a lot and I was entertained every minute of the game so I don´t mind that it was so easy)
Phantasmagoria 2 : A Puzzle of Flesh ( I like the second part even more than the first)
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Secret of Monkey Island
The Riddle of Master Lu
Blade Runner
Fahrenheit
And I´m pretty sure that I can add Gray matter to that list in a couple of months. :D
Ohhh almost forgot about Blade Runner, I have that game... Urban Runner too, that was a decent game, just over too quick... I really liked a game called Harvester too... I still have it, so I will probably play it again soon, now that I have Dosbox all set up...

Like I said above, some times I just can't even decide what to play...

Harvester is one of the games I was always interested in but I never played it.
But good you brought it back to my memory, I´ll keep watching Ebay for it until I have a chance of purchasing it.
Copyright protection wasn't big back in those days, I could probably burn you a copy... When I have the time to open up the Burner program and try it, I'll let you know... Just remind me from time to time to see if I've done it yet... lol
But if I can copy it, I will for you...

eBay has it for 9.99 right now with shipping at a ridiculous 6.99, or you can Buy It Now for 24.95 with the 6.99 shipping...
Hold off on spending that ridiculous eBay price and let me try burning it for you first...

Thanks for the offer Bafitis but I buy all my stuff. Wether it´s DVDS, CDs or games . But I´ll buy it on Ebay somewhen soon and then I can share my thoughts about the game on this board. :)
Very Well... Remember my offer if you don't like eBay pricing... 17 bucks for a 15 year old game is kind of steep if you ask me... Let me know if you change your mind...

Good things on the list so far. I'd also like to add Black Dahlia and the Zork series (mainly Return to Zork through Grand Inquisitor)

I also just started playing Dark Fall: The Journal a couple of weeks ago. I'm very intrigued by it so far, but can't find much time to play it. Anybody else played any Dark Fall games?

I started playing one of the original Dark Fall games, but found it very hard to get interested.

In fact, I feel bad saying this, but I find it extremely hard nowadays to get into any adventure games (particularly those form the Adventure Company, who seem to be the only ones making them).

To me, if the games don't have anything new, or have at least some level of action, it's not really worth the time.

I am extremely content with the Half Life 2 series, which seems to combine action with some really engaging story. And so I find it hard to play anything slower, especially given the time constraints I have. I only really have time to replay the classics if I want an adventure fix.

again...another game thread that I am just lost on because I am not up to date with all the games out there...I need to hit the lottery so I can just sit around and play games all day long
