Tex Murphy makes appearance on Zero Punctuation.

Well, one of the games and a strategy guide does, but I think thats top notch.

Not exactly displayed in Glory... But I did see the UAKM and Pandora boxes/covers...

The little video was as annoying as hell though... lol

I love british people. that video was freaking hilarious.

Pretty funny and accurate, too.
A sansGUI interface is one that does not have the small features called "Windows". The term comes from the French word sans, meaning "without".

SansGUI's are more typically used in Unix-like Operating Systems. The conventional wisdom is that a GUI (Grapical User Interface) help guide the casual computer user to perform routine tasks with Point and Click simplicity. SansGUI's have acquired considerable acceptance for users accustomed to the CLI (Command Line Interface).
Aww, you beat me to it. Curses!

Also, notice that UAKM and Pandora are shown to be good examples of the adventure game genre.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I did notice that, good stuff I think.

Well, in a sense they are. They are very much alive to us, the die hard fans...but as a whole, they are dead and it's because of the evolution of the gaming. I don't know too many eight year olds that would love to play Tex Murphy when they can grab a wii and play mario taking on all the other nintendo characters in a smash party.

Yeah but the ad is saying they are Dead, which doesn't encourage New people to try them out... If new people don't try the game, then we don't make the Fan-Base Bigger... If we don't make the Fan-Base Bigger then AC and CJ will never get an Okay to start filming a new Tex...

If you believe that if we get one thousand people posting on this board saying "Bring Tex back!" it will really make a lick of difference?

It's not in our hands. It never will be. Get over it. Leave it to the people who has that power, and support them instead.

It may not seem like much, but it's all that we *can* do.

I'm well aware of that, but it is because there are not enough of us asking to bring Tex back... The Backers of the game want to be reassured that they are going to make a sizable profit off of it... Right now they don't feel it will make that profit so they are unwilling to put money behind it...
It will take a lot more than a thousand and it will take a lot more than just them posting on this Message Board...

Take Two is a Huge company, they don't need our support, they have plenty of it with the people who buy Grand Theft Auto... What they need is a Reason to put out a game like Tex Murphy... They have reason to put out Grand Theft Auto, the fan base is huge and it screams for more after every addition to the series...
I just use Grand Theft Auto as an example, Take Two produces plenty of other games that have made mega bucks...

We are currently in the Age of Retro... There are people building older PCs so that people can play their older games with just the right amount of power and not too much like today's PCs...
There are people out there building units to play Atari Games, Sega Games, NES & SNES Games, just so we can play the older games we grew up with...
Now is the time to bring back Tex Murphy, but the Power Wanna Bes are not doing this for some reason...

I'm well aware that the people on this message board have very little chance of getting anything done when it comes to Tex's rebirth... Does not mean we cannot hope...

You say support the people who have it in their hands, they need no supporting, they need reason...

In out little Utopian society...executives would produce a new Tex game and everyone would be happy. But, in reality...the chances of the game being made is slim to none. Do I have hope...hell yes I do. Am I realist? Absolutely...my main thing in this whole thing, is just seeing how the story ends. Whether it's in the form of a brand new game, or Radio Theater...doesn't matter to me...cause all I really care about is the story. Would I love a game? You know it, but I would very much be appreciative of Radio Theater if that's how it ended up. Beggars can't be choosey...right now, I'll take what I can get.

They need to spend a few bucks refitting the other games and putting them back on the Shelves for people to buy... Kind of like Sierra did with the Quest Games, KQ, SQ, PQ, LS...
That way they can get a feel of what the Series would make money wise... If they like the charts of those, then they would feel more comfortable putting money into a budget for a completely New Game...

Adventure games are dead... Tex Murphy no longer has a pulse in todays market.

To be honest I am much happier having this community to remember the great classics, rather then be subjected to the bastardisation of the series (or the genre for that matter) with half-baked modern attempts at resurrection. Remember, it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

You just watched Star Trek IV: Undiscovered Country, didn't you???

There are games out there that are like Tex Murphy...

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/image_vie ... 1843&img=8

This game is going to be quite a bit like Tex Murphy and it's new... I agree to a certain degree, I would rather have the community remember how good Tex Murphy was than to have a half ass attempt at a newer game... But if most of the Original Authors work on the New game if there were to be one, then I don't think it would come out looking like some Spin off or half ass attempt...

I would very much like to see the Radio Episodes come to life in a game though... After that put it out to pasture... I don't want Tex to turn into a Final Fantasy or The SIMS...
