Some unfortunate news.

My 15 year old collie had to be put down today. Max was running a 104 temperature. He has had other medical problems recently, and all of these combined led the doc to tell us that it was better if we just let him go.

This topic is for you Max.

Rest and rememberence for Max.

Take care.
Love you.

Very sad to hear that Pizza. :(
It is hard to lose a pet that you´ve had for that long and that you´ve got a relation to.
But of course there always comes a point, where you know that it was the best thing for your pet to not make him suffer anymore. Still this doesen´t change anything about the sad situation in general.
Greetings
Hey I'm so sorry to hear that sad news.

It's hard losing a pet - they're one of the family.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. We're thinking of you.

My parents just had to put a dog to sleep as well. The feeling is mutual my friend!! Alas it'll be better with time.

My cat had to be put down at age 14. It's always hard, because your pet has a personality. I hope you are comforted by fond memories of Max and what made him special.
To Max. May the light of peace shine upon his memory.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Ditto from TOG. We had to put a few pets down over the years. Takes a piece of your heart every time. My sympathies.

Aww man, really sorry to hear that man. I'm a believer in the "All dogs go to heaven" theory, just as Doc is though. He's probably doing all the things he could never do in life right now. Like eating chocolate ice cream. Hope everythings gets better for you man.
All Dogs go to Heaven. No doubt about it.

But I know that still doesn't make up for all the sadness one feels after losing such a great friend.
You still have the memories... they will never leave you.

It's amazing what an impact the passing of a loved pet can make in a family, I often think that their presence is very human, I don't think of them as animals. My grandmother's cat died a year or two ago, it had been with her since 1985, my birth year.
"Just a pet, but not to me,
He was always there to comfort me,
Happiness in his heart,
Just to see me pull into the drive,
A walk in the park,
A stroll by the creek,
His mane on my cheek as we lay on the couch,
Rainy afternoon, watching the t.v. with my friend by my side,
His bark was his cry, and his way of telling me I love you.
I miss you old friend, I'll see you soon."

I hope the days get better as you try and move on from your loss.
