Tex demonstrates his telekinetic abilities
I recently got some screen capture software, and here is my first video, "Tex demonstrates his telekinetic abilities":
http://bambam.info/stuff/tele.swf
Geez, Tex, if you had telekinesis all along, why didn't you just use that to get the clipboard!?
I guess he's too much of a gentleman than to be so unsportsmanlike.
I'm unhappy with frame rate on many Tex videos on Youtube, so I hope to make some more and upload them so that everyone can see how great this game was.

True point, he does the same thing with Doors and Desk Drawers and whatnot... He can also make things disappear... One minute you'll be looking at an item and the next it has vanished and has become a little word on the right side of the screen...GarySogar wrote:Come to think of it, aren't ALL of his physical manipulations really telekinesis? Have we ever seen him actually touch anything? (FMV segments excepted) MAYBE HE REALLY IS A MUTANT?!!?
Hey Jane, play Pandora Directive and do the Video Capture on the Scene with Archie telling Tex that one of the Presidents were an Alien and then do a Capture of Tex sitting at his Desk saying that Clinton was the Alien, put them together and send it to MSNBC with a Not attached saying "This Was Made In The 90s"... I'll bet they plaster it across the country...

Yeah I love placing the Bomb... Same thing with the Bomb in the Mayan Temple when you blow up the Statue... Tex is awesome...Cubase wrote:I truly love how just before you enter the Roswell base, and you need to place the bomb at the door main door, you can place it from all the way at the back of the room without having to go through the Lazer field!
-Cub. =o)
I like standing at the end of the street past the Brew and Stew and face the Golden Palace and open the door from all the way back there...

Great video. Ah the memories, good times good times. What window was that? Not the mystery window where Tex said someone or something was watching him from it? (or am I thinking of something else)
This video reminded me how much I love Tex's voice in the Tex Murphy series. Apart from Chris Jones having a perfect voice for the character, there's something kinda echoey about it in the games, hard to describe but I really like it, guess its that whole Film Noir thing, talking within the echoes of the mind.
I look forward to your videos, let us know when you post some. I might have to avoid most Pandora Directive ones, trying to forget most the story for a later replay (can never totally forget though, too memorable!).
Gus Leach: Oi! Who keeps opening this bloody door!?
Well that would be after Golden Palace became Flamingo Club (or maybe Flamingo came before the Palace, I can't remember)

I think it is time for you to replay the games Sai... lolSai wrote:lol...Bafitis wrote:I like standing at the end of the street past the Brew and Stew and face the Golden Palace and open the door from all the way back there...

Flamingo was a Theater before, I can't remember the name right now, but it started with a B, Bayshoe Theater {I'm imagining a French Spelling here} is what it sounded like, how it was actually spelled, I can't remember... The Golden Palace stayed the Golden Palace, but it was Shut Down in Pandora...
The Theater that became the Flamingo was a building that you couldn't Pay Tex to go into in UAKM... Tex really didn't like that building in UAKM...
Edited:
Thanks Jim, come and swoop in with a Small to the Point Explanation while I'm wasting my time typing this out... lol

Yes as long as you can get a cursor lock on something it doesnt matter how far Tex is away to interact with an object. Perhaps they could make this a constraint for this except for the look command. I normally do things close up so the only times I can remember the developers picking up on this exploit was opening the doors in the Fireball Chamber and Val Davis's lab in Overseer. You had to enter the radiation chamber to pick up the passcard reader. Do it anywhere else. Tex say's "I'll have to get closer."
Thanks Jim the old guy and Bafitis, I appreciate the clarifications.
It's clearer to me now.
I probably do need to do a proper replay then. Or maybe it's just me getting old... but then again Jim the old guy remembers so I'll have to rethink my excuses
So its the Golden Gate Hotel? If so then I guess it would be:
Ardo Newpop: Oi! Who keeps opening this bloody door!? You're making me miss my favourite TV show!

If memory serves, I think Tex says that in Overseer when you are at the prison....you have to get some kinda of canister off the far wall and if you try and do it from too many cells out he says "Ill have to get closer."
"Some men aren’t looking for anything logical. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”
He says it in the Laser Room in Pandora as well, before you blow the door when you need to get the Piece of Wire off the wall... You can't get the wire off the wall, unless you get closer, but you can place lighted Dynamite against the door from the other side of the Laser field... lol

I guess he's just selective when using his special powers. You know with great power comes great responsibility. Also he may not want to fry his brain from over-usage, he already has to unravel complex mystery cases and thwart his enemies with his sharp wit and intelligence without resorting to blasting his way out of everything, so his brain powers probably need a rest every now and again.
