EBAY...

Some people just don't know what they have... I watched it, giving others a chance to bid on it, but when it got near the end, I couldn't take it anymore and had to make a bid... I figured it was better for Tex to be in the Hands of a Fan than to go unsold and possibly into the Trash...

I watched the auction as it counted down, it got under 20 minutes so I placed a Bid, the starting bid was $9.99, shipping $5.95... So I placed a bid... I won the auction unchallenged... $15.94 for ALL 3 of the Main Series... UAKM, PD, and Overseer...

16 bucks, I couldn't believe it, so I wrote the seller an email asking them why they would sell such a great adventure series... Their reply was that they had never played it, it was left over from a box their sister left behind when she moved over seas... Puzzled, I couldn't let the conversation finish at that... So I replied asking if they had told their sister that she had left it behind and I also asked if they would be interested in playing the game... They said their sister didn't care {I'm assuming they never asked} and they said they didn't have time for games like this... So I left the conversation alone at that and took my 16 Dollar Prize...

Ebay, sometimes it is a land of Treasures...

Conditions...

Overseer is in great condition, except the DVD is missing, which they stated in the Auction... Very few scratches for the age of the game, except for Disc 1 has some light scratches, but I have a place up the road a bit that can repair Discs with light scratches like this...

Pandora is in Beautiful Condition... I looked these Discs over and I couldn't believe it... Practically no scratches...

UAKM, is in lightly used condition, still very good looking for its age and the Discs have been tested, they work just fine... It is packed in a way I've never seen UAKM Packaged before though... It was released by a company named KIXX, it's in a Fold Out package, the whole package folds out revealing a Disc every time you fold another section open... The Discs don't have any graphics on them like I'm use to, they are all the same with just the Number of the Disc changing from 1 to 4... They are half White and half Beige... The package is held close by a little Magnet Strip... On the back it is in 3 Languages, English, French, and German...

Good for you, Baf. I've purchased a few great deals from Ebay sellers over the years. The only one interesting item I missed was the studio chair used by Margot Kidder for UAKM. It was sold by a person who actually worked on the set. Didn't have the money at the time. Really irks me.

Wow, didn't realize they allowed anything like that to go... Usually it's just put in a warehouse for decades...

That makes me wonder how extensive your collection really is, Jim... With such a collection, I'm thinking... I'm thinking that... maybe...

YOU, Jim the Old Guy, have at some point obtained the rights to Tex Murphy! That's why they can't make a new game or find the rights, because YOU decided you just had to have the ultimate Tex item in your collection!

I'm on to you! Oh yes!

:D

The jig is up! Fredo has me in a trap! Actually, if I had the rights to Tex Murphy, a lot of good things would have happened in the last few years. But alas, it is not meant to be.

One of the great pieces of Tex-mobilia I got from Ebay was a polo shirt for Pandora Directive. It's pretty cool, with embroidery on the sleeve and over the breast. Had to outbid Jim on it. :o

The absolute coolest thing I got off Ebay though was Dana Scully's jacket (off Season 5, I think). Dark blue Armani. Fox auctions was doing it for charity...now, I think for profit. :o

That's one fly jacket!

You said that as a question so it must mean that it is only a matter of price. I bid 2 dollars for Fred.

C'mon, I'm worth at least 3.

Okay Freep, since it's you, you can have me for 2 dollars. But only if you promise to feed me ice cream!

A few times I have walked into thrift stores and found copies of all the tex games.

One time I found Mean streats and MM BOXED!, I had to pass because I didnt have cash with me. When I got back there the next day they were already gone... :(

Last month I found a sealed copy of Pandora at my local thrift store for 1.99 I love thrift stores.....
Someone had UAKM on ebay the other day with a "make an offer" option attached to it. So I put in an offer of $5 with $5 shipping and won. Got it yesterday and it's in perfect condition. My plan of buying every copy of Tex Murphy games known to man is slowly coming to fruition.
