Magic?

So tell me this, do we have any Magic: The Gathering geeks around this here joint?

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Its probably been over six years since I last played it, but I did play Magic off and on with a friend of mine way back my sophomore year of high school.

Its been so long I can't remember how to play now, and who knows where all my cards have gone...

Um....I worked for the company. Beta test-prereleased Urza's Saga, ran premiere events. Got in at Unlimited, Fallen Empires and Ice Age. Fell in and out. Stayed out after the parent company 'THE DEMON known as HASBRO', shut down our division. :x I've got boxes and boxes of this stuff. All the Moxes, and a Black Lotus (CE but who gives a crud, in a sleeve they look just like Beta.) We even decorated our store with statues, and I bought most of them. 4 goblins and the D'Avenent Archer.
It was surreal having Brom walk down the hallway and wait in line with you to pick up stuff at the product points store right by my cube farm.

I Swear I'm not trying to brag or anything. It was the coolest job I ever had. But it was incredibly stressful...and over.

I don't have a full body shot of the archer. She's crouched down, but if she stood, she'd be 6 foot.

More later. Gotta go.

I don't play anymore, and wasn't hugely great at it. I prefered Red 'burn and goblin' decks and Green trample stompies. I hated Blue Control decks and black discards. :x

edit....out with stupid mis-sized picture. I posted more further down.
Heh I got stock in Hasbro. So no more Magic is being made?
Goblin decks are excellent ways to torture your opponents! I love those!

Also, Jen is now designated Most Cool and given Exalted Status.

...end geeking.....
for now.
Besides. Almost no one in my "Real Life" is into this kind of stuff. It's fun to share it with folks who "get it", instead of thinking I'm some freakish thing.

I knew the lady who made the original sculptures, someone I Hugely admired. Kim Graham.
The company ceased to care about the amazing things they created :x , so I bought them up. :D
Very Nice Work...

Do some modifications to that last one and it could look like Gollum from LOTR...

Jen, I can't tell you how freaked out I'd get if I woke up in the middle of the night and saw one of those statues looking at me...

HA!!! Goblin Grenade is in my bedroom. And the archer has been known to startle the crud out of folks first visiting my place. She's in the corner, and people see it in their perpherial visions and jump.
Unfortunately there are a number of things that exempt me from being a geek:

1. Never seen a Star Wars film
2. Never seen an episode of Star Trek
3. Never set foot inside an internet cafe, except to drag someone out who owed me money
4. Never attended nor hosted a LAN party
5. Never played any card games other than the ones that involve $100 chips and beer
6. Never played WoW

However, that does not mean I don't dig the fascination with any of the above... that said, I still think geek chicks are hot!! I will join any geekgirl for cosplay any day. :D

Too funny Jen! Love what you've done with the place ;)

Also, Cub? The first Star Wars films are pretty good, and you shouldn't let the geek stigma stop you from enjoying them.

But if you want to see the new ones, get a Jar-Jar filter first :D
