I paid a visit to Dr. Paul today (about 15 minutes from where I live) and he loaded 2 flash drives (4GB each) for the older Tex games. He put MS, MM and UAKM on one and PD on the other. When I got home I plugged in PD and voila! it works perfectly! I'm floating on cloud 9, thanks to our resident Dr.

Do you have to have any additional software installed on your PC like DosBox or that bizarre sound program?

All the DosBox and sound stuff are on the flash drives, so they are completely self-contained. You can literally plug one into any XP or Win2000 computer and start playing right away. No installation necessary.
you forget something Jim?
Why didnt you took a picture of yourself with Dr. Paul.:)
ya know, for 100% Proof.:)

Take 2 Flash Drives & Call Him In The Morning... :D

You can't call him in the morning, you'll be sleeping in because of the long night you just spent playing Tex... So call him when you finally wakeup...

WOW!!! Plug and play?
looks down at feet...so if I sent you some flash drives, and maybe a few $$$ (or skip sending the drives and just send all the costs to your Kneus Paypal account) could you set something up like that for me?

I've never been able to get MM and MS to work. To be able to play the old games (and no disc swapping) on my laptop would be great.

I'd be interested in this as well... What size Flash Drives would you need to put all 5 games on??? I noticed that Jim didn't mention Overseer, are you able to put that one on a Flash Drive as well or do I have to be happy with just the 4 games??? I'd be more than happy with just the 4 games, but if Overseer is possible, then by all means I would want all 5...

Seriously, I echo Jen's thoughts, how much $$$ would you want and what size Flash Drives should I get??? And how many Flash Drives??? I know Jim said 2, but if you are able to do Overseer would I need a 3rd one for that???

Man! Sounds awesome, Dr. Paul! I could definitely use such a setup. I'm with Jen - how much would it set us back to have such a thing for us? I guess you or Jim could just make a copy of the data, but I would pay a little more than the raw materials for your time and effort.

You just HAVE TO tell us how to do that Doc!!

Sure! I'd be happy to do this.

There are several ways it could be done.

1. Send me one 8GB or two 4GB flash drives and NO money. (I would not dream of charging for this service.)

2. Mail-order the flash drives with the best deal you can find, but have them shipped to my address.

3. PayPal me some funds with which to buy the drives for you.

4. Or I can explain to you how to do it yourself.
I didn't invent it. I followed the instructions for UAKM, PD, MS and MM which are found in Glenn's Guides, and I simply substituted the flash drive for the C: drive.

I'll just say this: It's easier to let me do it for you. All I have to do is copy the files. No thinking, disk-swapping, downloading or anything. It just takes me a few minutes. All the disk-copying, patches and configuring is already done. But if anyone wants to do it themselves, I can post detailed instructions.

It is really a nice package. You can carry TM around with you in your pocket or purse and play on virtually any computer with a USB.
This is fairly brilliant. Too brilliant for me obviously, or I would've thought of it before! Once you're done with the others and if you're not tired of doing the file copying I'll drop you an order by PM. I'd have to go with option 3, being in Canada and getting constantly shafted on electronics and computer prices, there's no way I'm getting a good deal on a 4gb flash card.

I'd attempt it myself but disc 4 of PD sadly refuses to read, and I am definitely not going to go through all that if I can't get PD to work!

Could you perhaps explain on how to do it? Would love to get around playing these games again.
PM in your box Dr. Paul.
