I'm posting this from my new samsung tocco phone despite the fact that there's a perfectly good pc right next to me. Anyone else done silly or impractical things for sheer novelty value?

I once built a lego space station hanging from a ceiling lamp. Annoyed the hell out of certain family members.
Also, here's a fun fact. Lego can melt if you expose it to heat long enough! Yes, it's true!
Another fun fact. Maternal beings get agitated when they find molten lego!

I once made a post onto a forum with my Wii. It might of been this forum, though I don't remember which.

Months before the launch of XBox Live, brother and I plugged the Box on the pc cable modem, found about 10 servers on Gamespy to log on and played 2 vs 2 capture the flag Halo matches against similar fools who felt like doing the same.
Connection was sloppy as hell but it was well worth the frustrations and curses! Ironically enough, I never subscribed to XBox Live or played Halo multiplayer since.
I also remember plugging the SNES on the tv through the VHS and recording our Mario World and Turtles in Time games. I wish I still had the tapes!

Look up Buer on Wikipedia. Fun read.
Also, another useless but fun thing I did once was build a snowman. On my neighbor's porch. Designed after the Calvin & Hobbes method. I. e. one scary snowman. Coulda put Dick Cheney to shame!
However I'm not allowed to build snowmen near their porch anymore.
