Just curious.
My wife and I are into ballroom dancing (foxtrot, chacha, swing, bolero, rumba, samba, tango, waltz). It's been our hobby for for three years now (definition of hobby: spend lots of money on something useless that you love).
Any other ballroom dancers out there?

Haven't danced in a few years, but I use to Waltz and Foxtrot, along with, I can't think of how to spell it, the

Merangay

{I'm pretty sure that is wrong, but I just spelled it how it sounded}... Been awhile since I've done anything but Slow Dance though...

Merengue. The dance of the people. It can be simple (so kids and seniors can dance it ) or complex (so those 20-somethings can show off!).

Have not done ballroom, but I have a few friends who are into Ceroc (sp?). I am actually going to start Hip-Hop lessons at some stage... apparently it is very difficult, but the application for use are vast (esp on the club scene). But I personally like the idea of being "that white guy who can dance", rather than being relegated to Macarenas, Nutbushes, Grease Medleys and Chicken dances!

Merengue, we took dance lessons for that, the complex one, and did it as our Wedding Dance, after the traditional slow dance... Had roars from the crowd, it was awesome... We tore that dance floor up with that dance...

I took some lessons in College. They were all for salsa dancing. It was a failed attempt for me to keep up with some Hispanic Roommates and Friends

I don't dance. Guess I'm not a friend of yours, then.

I can do the funky chicken, not even sure how to spell wah-toose.
Not tried ballroom per se, but I can actually do salsa and ceroc, but they don't sound as grand, but my girlfriend gets jealous of me dancing with lots of other women.
