I honestly don't know how to explain it. I just imagine him singing those songs, and it warms my heart.

He was on an Episode of ER a couple of weeks ago... Starting to finally look old... It's only taken 30 years... lol
No I don't see him as a Willy Wonka... I didn't see Depp as a Wonka either... Gene Wilder did an Excellent Job and they shouldn't have tried redoing it...
Sadly he is up there in age and hasn't done anything recently...

I'm not saying Wilder isn't golden. The man is GOLDEN. Though I don't feel bad about him not acting, from what I've heard about him he leads a real happy life outside the spotlight. Besides what would he do without Pryor, and with Mel Brooks no longer making movies. That is the real travesty my friends, Mel Brooks won't make another movie!

Billy Dee Williams singing those songs would be pretty heart warming too.
Or Christopher Walken, as long as he danced as well.

Oh I'm sure he leads a very happy life... The man is hilarious though, I would have loved for him to have done more movies with Pryor... Sadly Pryor fell ill with Parkens though...

I cannot agree. I love Walken and Billy Dee, but they don't have that same quality that I think would make a good Wonka.

No, Walken is Great, don't get me wrong, but he is in no way a Wonka... Walken would make a good Bond Villain though...

Actually Brooks is trying to make one last movie....
with Gene Wilder.
Says he won't make it without him.

If that happens it would be one of the happiest moments of my life.

Brooks??? As in Mel Brooks or Albert Brooks??? I'm guessing Mel Brooks... I'm a fan of both, but Mel is by far better...
Something tells me the movie won't happen... Wilder hasn't worked in over 5 years {9 years if you don't count his 2 little appearances on a TV Show, Will & Grace to be specific}, for some reason I just don't see him coming back for a last film after almost a decade of nothing...

I don't know, one last bow with your friend can mean a lot.
I doubt a studio will get behind it but if they write something good, then maybe something will happen.

Mel Brooks doesn't really need a Studio to get behind him... He has financed several of his own films before...
Mel is 82 years old... Not sure if he will have the energy for a full fledged film at this point... If it is already written, it will probably be one of those things that get rediscovered after his passing and then made just because it was Mel Brooks work...
But who knows with Hollywood people... Sometimes they disappear for years and then make a comeback... Anything is to be guessed when it comes to the Entertainment Industry...

Mel has a lot of energy. He still makes for a damn entertaining interview.
