I just got the mail this morning that TellTale will be making 5 episodic games of Monkey Island called "Tales of Monkey Island" ... all our favourite characters are back along with new characters, new islands and new adventures. And the first episode is out on July 7th. I just can't wait for this!!

Holy crap this is AWESOME news!!

If anybody sees the newsarticle about a drunken, naked man dancing in the streets... well... it probably wasn't me. But I'll certainly drink and dance to this!!

This is really cool news, and I like the idea of having to purchase all five episodes in advance to get a bonus.

Though saying that, do they ship the DVD to those that live outside the states?

I cannot wait. Having not played a game for years, we get TCM and then Monkey Island. Brilliant stuff.

I suppose they will ship to outside the States. I have already purchased it and they didn't complain about my being from Denmark, so I can't see any problems with that

$35 is also a great price for 5 episodes - especially with the current currency rates

The following link features some Telltale words about the possibility of a Maniac Mansion/ Day of the Tentacle future with Telltale Games. I know it´s not official work in progress or anything and it depends on the success of the Monkey Island episodes but Fred and the other DOTT fans here should at least be be able to have some realistic hope that the tentacles might return- regarding the words of Telltale CEO Dan Connors.

I'm not sure I could really see Day of the Tentacle/Maniac Mansion as an episodic sort of series. Hell, I can't even really picture a sequel that well. I think something like Space Quest, Tex, or even Grim Fandango would work better.

This is great news indeed. Can't wait to revisit the world of monkey island! I hope our old friends, Murry and Stan return! They'd just have to make an apperance!
