The Beatles Remasters + Rockband

It's almost like there's been a resurgence in Beatlemania over here given the slew of TV and Radio specials not to mention the endless promotion of the new remasters and the Beatles Rock Band game. Anyone looked into any of these yet?
I'm not so much into The Beatles rockband, but as a massive Beatles fan, the Remasters do interest me. I had a listen to "Revolution" today on the radio and you can hear the difference: crisp, sharp and I imagine it would only have to be played at 25% volume to have a decent listen. At the moment, if I play any Beatles music on my iPod (with really good Sennheiser earphones) you need to turn the volume up to about 75% to have a decent listen.
But, I say you'd be foolish to buy the boxset now, i'm saving up for Christmas myself.
From what i've seen in both the mono and stereo sets, there are no initial bonus materials or limited pressings of artwork , they just seem to be a stock standard run which means if you hold off a couple of months, you'll get exactly the same thing for less money.
But it will be a long wait for me. I'm just kicking back with The White Album right now actually, the 1987 stereo mix. It'll be nice to replace the tepid jewel case albums as they're in quite poor condition due to the fact they were the first albums I ever purchased. Plus, I don't have them all so my Beatles collection will actually be complete once and for all with this boxset.
For those audio nerds out there, take a look at this:

If you scroll down, you'll see the wave comparison between Mono and Stereo. Clearly, the new Stereo remasters have more volume and punch. This is exactly what I was hoping for. What this means is you should be able to get a decent listen from a Beatles album on headphones/earphones without having to pump the volume. Best of all, while the sound has signifcantly been amplified, apparently we can be assured that the remasters won't fall prey to the whole loudness war by suffering from clipping and other compression issues. The sound is said to be the clearest it has ever been.
I can't wait to re-discover Sgt Pepper.
Anyone else following this one?
