I was thinking the same thing. Not a peep out of anybody lately.
I'm heading off to FL to work the next shuttle launch this weekend. We've got 5 more to go and we are out of the space business.

Yeah just been the Bots floating around lately... Makes me think of WALL-E... All the robots buzzing around while the humans chill in a semi-veggie-state...
January for a lot of people {at least here in the states} is kind of like crunch time, everyone at work was all laxed during the holiday season, so now it is time to buckle down and get some things done...
Not saying that is everyone's or anyone's excuse though...
Also those of our community who are in School, the new semester just started up so I imagine they are getting a feel for their new classes and getting their routine under control...
As for me though, I'm getting ready for what my area considers a Massive Winter Storm... Looking to get 2 feet of snow Friday and Saturday... To me that's nothing, but to listen to my local news it's damn near Armageddon...

Sam - You're a rocket scientist?
Jim - I thought your workload got lighter lately?
Jen - Where'd you go?
Thomas Malloy - Why'd you run off again?

Jim asked about DrPaul not too long again, has anyone heard from him??? And then there's Stu, haven't heard from him since he talked about a show he was working on up in Canada...
Hopefully all is well with both of them...
What's the word with that contact list that was suppose to get made up??? Wasn't a copy suppose to go to Cub, Jen, and James???

Fred,
I'm an aerospace engineer. I work for the space shuttle program and one of my duties is to go out and do launch support when the time comes.
Soon I'll be extinct along with a whole bunch of other people when the shuttle stops flying. I'll be getting forced into early retirement. So who knows what my next job will be. I hear India is working on their space program. I'm probably not allowed to go work for the Chinese.

You could go into the Private Sector, what with Passenger Space Trips and stuff starting up... I'm sure the market will be bursting in the next couple of years...

I am currently deep deep undercover doing a secret wink wink, for a you know who, at the nudge nudge. All very low key at the moment.

Sam an aerospace engineer? How cool is that!
Yeah, the Doc and Stu are sorely missed.
Still, good to see so many responding to this thread. makes the heart leap for joy!

Jim,
Sometimes it's a cool job and sometimes like tonight it's not so cool.
I went out to the launch pad to inspect the vehicle. That's when buckets of rain came pouring through and drenched all of us on the pad. Tomorrow I have to sleep in all day so I'll be able to stay up late for the launch at 4:34 am on Sunday morning.
But yes I imagine years from now I'll remember the good times and these crappy times won't seem so bad.
