Of mundane dreams

The other night I had a dream I was at work. A lady came in and asked for an item she said was on sale. I wasn't sure of this item so we went up to the front of the store and we looked through our advertisement flier to find the item in question.
Or...
Another night I had a dream a customer asked me for some carpet (I work in the flooring department of a hardware store). I look through all the carpet but there's none of what they want and our counts are off.
This is sad. This is freakin' sad. It's bad enough that I'm dragging myself through the retail motions another year after other years, but now even my dreams are getting boring. How do you know you've worked a job for too long? When you have dreams of working at your job and all you're doing is the same thing you do every day, and it's not taking over the world.
I've been trying to find a new job. Or a job related to my major (english, and don't worry, I'm not holding my breath). I'd like to get a writing job, but every one demands experience. Previous employers.
And then there's money. I'm not in the poorhouse, though I don't make enough that I can actually do much with it. My computer has broken, though the hum coming from the fan inside the 400mhz, 128 meg of ram iMac is pleasant.
Here's to tomorrow?
