Tron Legacy Really?

Is anybody going to see this? I saw the original Tron. It was okay. I did like the special effects but didn't think the story was that brilliant.

The only interesting thing was that they got the two original actors from the first Tron to come back for this sequel. Are there any Tron fanatics out here?

I saw the original TRON when it came out in 1982. I thought it was really cool and I enjoyed it. At the time, it was very innovative and leading edge in its computer generated effects. I thought it did an excellent job at representing computer concepts in animated form (remember the flying globe-like creature "Bit?" Of course, it could only say "yes" or "no." Get it?). I was just starting my career in computers, so I found the movie fascinating. I am interested in seeing if the new TRON keeps up with that theme of representing computer technology.

Never even heard of Tron. What is it?

BTW eye catching avatar Gary.
I saw Tron some time ago and thought it was okay. I will not be seeing the new Tron movie.
Bjyman,
Tron was a movie from the 80s. It's the story about a man who goes inside the computer. It had unique special effects to show the computer world.

Here's a quickie summary from www.imdb.com

****************************
Hacker/arcade owner Kevin Flynn who is digitally broken down into a data stream by a villainous software pirate known as the Master Control and reconstituted into the internal, 3-D graphical world of computers. It is there, in the ultimate blazingly colorful, geometrically intense landscapes of cyberspace, that Flynn joins forces with Tron to outmaneuver the Master Control program that holds them captive in the equivalent of a gigantic, infinitely challenging computer game.

It's Sark, the bad guy / bad program in the original TRON, played by David Warren.

Tron was spoofed in an old Tom Hanks Movie called The Man With One Red Shoe.
