GOG
2 days until gog claim they have the biggest announcement ever, hope its not another one of their sick jokes.
Rumour has it as major publisher
1. Microsoft
2. Electronic Arts
3. Square Enix
4. Lucasarts
5. Take 2
hope its take two as they might release the black dahlia, maybe correcting the mouse issue.

If it's Lucasarts, I'm hoping for X-Wing! And Tie Fighter! But not X-Wing Versus Tie Fighter. That one wasn't so classic.

If it's Lucasarts, remember those Archive Box sets they released in the mid 1990s? They had one for all of their adventure games (with the exception of Zac Mac). That would be awesome, though given a lot of my gaming for now seems to be handheld (3DS and iPod Touch), i'd love to think they're doing ports outside of the traditional platforms too. Wow, I never thought i'd read myself saying that.
well however the publisher is gog state they will be releasing 25 of their titles over the coming months. Their announcement is going to be on live feed but it also will be their parent company announcing their next up coming title.
The announcements will be made on June 2 at 12:00 LA time (which is 3:00 p.m. EDT or 7:00 p.m. GMT) via Ustream live stream at this link.

Ok.. So by deduction, Microsoft and Square Enix don't have studios in LA.. that rules them out.
One poster said as I expected, that EA was going to be re-releasing their own games via EA Store which is a competitor to GOG.com so that rules them out.
That leaves us with 2K and LucasArts. I'm positive it won't be 2K, they wouldn't have 25+ games in their classic catalogue, meanwhile all of their games are availible via steam. LucasArts would be a huge one, if they got all the old starwars games + Scumm games, its worthy of being the biggest announcement yet, whilst true many of the LucasArts games are availible via steam, they're missing a huge number of classic starwars games which many have been crying out for, they're missing the remaining games in the monkey island series, they don't have Day of the Tentacle... They don't have Grim Fandago, they dont have sam and max.. they dont have full throttle.
Its a good bet.

Of all the Lucas Arts games, there are apparently pretty serious technical problems involved in getting Grim Fandango to run on today's machines. There are Forum threads about this all over the Internet, which any interested parties can easily find, and they will give you more detail than I can. It's not that it couldn't be done, as anything like this can be done if someone is willing to take the trouble, but it really sounds like it would take actual code rewrite. There's clearly a huge latent demand for this game from a site like GOG or Steam, but it would evidently require more of an investment to convert it seamlessly than is normal.
