that`s the advantages of social networks. you don`t have to actually talk with people FACE-TO-FACE

LOL! my voice just
Plumgas, I'm assuming since they did not put a specific address it's more of an online gathering.
I wonder who runs the Tex Murphy Facebook page? Big Finish? Or is it a fan?

Thank goodness. It would cost me a lot of money to drive to California.
Actually nobody is meeting on Facebook either. In many cases, event pages on Facebook are created simply as a way of reminding people to put that date in their calendar, and because they use Facebook often (a lot do), it will not only serve as a count down, but a reminder when the campaign has begun, and they can start donating!!

I think Skype could maybe change that
i think there are still too many people, that spent more time on facebook then skype!

Why don't we just organise a chat session on the day of the launch then? People can come and go and chat about it!

So my mom called all excited and told me my grandma had called her and told her that I was going to California in a couple weeks, and was wondering why I hadn't told her and was wondering if I'd got a job or what the hell was going on...after spending 20 minutes explaining to her that she was wrong and that I in fact wasn't 'actually' going to Oakland, she finally let me off the line, unconvinced, after which my grandmother called and asked me what the story was with my sudden plans to visit the west coast...aigh...so, about 20 minutes later, unable to convince her about the nature and meaning of a Facebook event, it became clear to me that 'Facebook Official' now extends beyond the realm of relationships, that parents and grandparents probably shouldn't use Facebook, and that I guess I'll be in Oakland May 15th?
