Unofficial Tex Murphy

Have I ever shared my love of the ultra-stylishly awesome Tex Murphy logo? Well, I am now, it's one of my all-time favorite logos! Even better than the James Bond logo of him shooting through the iris at the audience.

And also cements the idea that there is no Tex Murphy but Chris Jones.

Ghostbusters is a pretty tough one to beat.

Okay, now I have to make an alternate Tex Murphy logo with him holding a proton gun/particle thrower instead of a pistol. Thanks, Joel!

Actually if you really wanted to compete with it you'd have to somehow incorporate the circle and stroke element of the logo but also keeping Tex's face out of the image otherwise it looks like we're against him.

Yeah, many years back someone else was using it for their project, and there was conversation about it. Cause at this point, it was most widely known as Tex's logo.

You're are correct, Jen. Almost a decade ago now, Moonstone Books used (briefly) the Tex Murphy logo for their Moonstone Noir line of graphic novels. Some fans saw it & asked them when Tex was coming to comics, which then led to Moonstone learning the logo wasn't as generic as they thought it was.

In fact, I used their image of the Tex silhouette in my avatar and signature (shown). Big thanks to Cub back in the day for finishing the signature for me.
