Hello everyone, I am a total newb to this board, but I am long-time fan of Tex and this website.
I think it is high time that I came out of lurking to say that I think you all have done one hell of a great job. For one, keeping the faith all these years that Tex would be back, and two, completely owning this kickstarter project. You all are the old guard holding down the fort so to speak and that is why I hold back in chats etc, because this is your time right now.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!
Wait... I got here in 2008. I'm also a n00b compared to others around here.
Anyway, after the game gets made, I hope we'll see many more wonderful users!

The backers of the project are the ones to thank. And not all of them are from here
But I don't think there's a single member of this board who hasn't gone above and beyond, both in terms of actual monetary backing, and in getting and garnering support, and in spreading the word beyond our humble borders.
And that includes you lurkers, so don't sell yourselves short! Thank
you!

Right on! Those who have been here and kept the flame of faith and hope burning are important. But, just as important are all the new members, lurkers, and non-members who backed the project.
And, VanTexFan, don't hold back: dive on in, the water's fine here.

Well, I've technically been around a while, but my posts here are more like an occasional hit-and-run. Kudos to those that kept posting regularly and keeping the flame of hope lit that Tex would one day return. It's finally going to become a reality!

Defining "old guard" is hard... I finally made an account to post in the boards in 2009, but had been lurking for a while.
Anyone who played the Tex games when they came out counts as "old guard" to me.

I would have to say that the "Old Guard" as it has been coined, would define anyone who played the games in the 90s and is still a fan today... So that goes out to any and all lurkers who don't want to post for whatever their reason may be...
But that doesn't make any newer player less valuable in this time of triumph... Just the "Old Guard" couldn't have pulled off this victory alone... So as others have said, this victory is for All who have ever played Tex and have craved the ending to our prolonged cliffhanger... And now that moment is within reach... I put faith into the guys to bring us a wonderful story...
I admit that my faith in Tex's return has wavered in the past, but my devotion to being a fan has always been strong... There were many times that I accepted the fact that there wouldn't be another game, that we would have to settle with a Radio Theater or a Novel or other form of closure, but my love for the Tex brand has always been true...
Lets keep up the push for more funds, because the more funds we can put into the pot the better and longer story and game we can get, not too mention a better cast to compliment our already great original cast... But of course you all already know that...
Can't wait to see the final amount in 7 1/2 days...

I played a UAKM demo but couldn't afford or find the games. I finally got DOSBOX and played them in 2008.
So I'm still a n00b

Played Tex back in '98 when I was in high school, and have been a lurker here since at least '06. Hell, Tex is the reason I bought my fedora so many years ago. Still have the old thing, though I think its ready to be retired.

Delurking once more ...
I originall played UAKM back in 94 or 95. A little while later I sold my PC to afford a Sega Saturn (remember that?). Yeah, in hindsight, that wasn't the best choice. Over the next few years, I always wanted to play Pandora and Overseer, but never get to the chance to do so. Finally, in early 2000, I got a PC at University. I told my parents, that I needed it for my studies ... but catching up on missed adventure games took up a lot of time too. Well, turns out I had ample opportunity to catch up, because the genre was basically dead by this point.
Needless to say though, I fell head over heels in love with Pandora and Overseer. Finally roaming Chandler Avenue again, experiencing some of the best storytelling in games ever ... it was quite amazing.
I found this forum at that time (the EZboard version). Even posted here once or twice (can't even remember my username). But I preferred staying in the shadows. As time went on, I started working in the gaming industry myself, but over all these years Tex has always remained one of my favourite series. Every once in a while I checked this place, hoping for some news about the revival of my favourite PI. It never happened. But in my heart, I was never able to let go of my hope. Projects like 3 Cards to midnight were proof enough, that Chris and Aaron would NEVER forget about Tex.
And you know what else was proof enough? This community! Think about it. Tex isn't the most well known franchise around (though we'll change that now, won't we?), and there wasn't anything new for over a decade. Almost a decade and a half, if we discount the brilliant Radio Theatre. Yet, this community stuck together. When the Kickstarter went live, I started reading these forums again more regularly, and it's quite amazing to see so many of the old names still around. "Cubase" ... hey ... I remember him ... "Jim the old guy" ... oh yeah ... and James Le Mosey still runs the site after all those years! In my opinion, that's just amazing. I am sure that the dedication of this community was one of the driving forces behind the return of Tex, and one of the things that helped Chris, Aaron and everyone else at Big Finish to keep faith alive.
So, yeah, all of uns old school tex fans are over the moon right now, but you guys can really pat yourselves on the back. You deserve it.
Sorry for my ramblings. Now, let's get those stretch goals taken care of, shall we?
