P.S. Were people really complaining that they would have to pay $5 to get the webcomic?

That's lame.
No, we just ended up competing with our own reward tiers is all. Shame we can't swap around the ones that are deadlocked. Meaning, the ones that are already backed.

I really wanted to drop the price on the comics. Because some people complain, and loudly, that they can walk into any store in America and get six issues of a comic for $2.99. So we're charging them $75 for six issues, whereas the store charges $17.94.

Sad thing is, they don't realize that we are not Marvel or DC. It costs a fair amount for an individual to print that many issues. And also, shipping is included in the $75.

I think I'll make sure and include that in our next update video, actually.

1. I've never thought that backing a kickstarter project was just to get the reward. I.e., I don't expect the value of the reward to equal the pledge I make. I don't expect to get my money's worth in rewards from the Tex project. I pledged because I wanted to get Tex back. The rewards are nice, but I don't think it's a dollar for dollar equation. The same goes for your project.

2. People who pledge $75 to your project are getting more than just the comic. Again, see #1 above about the value as opposed to the pledge, but I don't think it is fair to say that you are charging $75 for the comic.
Some people are just whiners.

Well, we don't want more than what it would take to launch this thing. It's the proceeds from the potential sales afterwards I'm interested in.

I'm not seeing a cent of the Kickstarter funds. It's all going into the graphic novel. I'm writing it for free. And loving every minute of it!
