I have access to BOTH the GOG and Steam versions of the game
Mines currently in the process of updating on the page. Everyone in Beta should be getting an upgrade now.Joel wrote:Not sure if this is an error but this morning I successfully redeemed my STEAM key. But, only minutes ago, GOG tells me I now have access to the download of the full game, not the Beta. So, no code for GOG seems necessary at all. I didn't pay a cent for either.
Anyone else?
Were you in the beta? They said on the GOG forums that the beta versions on GOG shelves would convert to retail versions automatically. They said if you ever had the Tesla Effect box on your GOG shelf you were definitely gonna get it. The game went down from their site briefly to update it to retail I guess.
I sadly wasn't able to afford to do the beta tier so no dice. But staff did say they sent out GOG codes to BFG/ATLUS so that may all be sorted out later. GOG haven't heard back yet since sending the codes and BFG don't seem to be aware of any GOG codes so maybe ATLUS need to wake up?
(Like I said in another thread I'm not in any rush to play just yet because well life haha, might even end up waiting until the physical copy)

Yes, I was a Beta-Level backer. I actually feel bad for GOG at the moment. Honestly, I haven't downloaded my GOG copy. I only intend to use the Steam copy because from Day 1 that's where I wanted my game from. I'd rather them confiscate my GOG code and just let me keep my Steam key. There were A LOT of Beta backers for this game, i'd hate to think if they'd be losing sales if Beta backers are giving either their GOG entitlement or Steam keys away to friends and family.
I think if the choice was between Steam or GOG, it would of been better to of done what the Jane Jensen Kickstarter did. They sent out a Backer Rewards Survey for "Do you want Steam or GOG?" before the launch day. I picked GOG and so never got a Steam code. Hindsight though heh.

Well, technically you still got a raw deal as you didn't get a quality adventure game, you got Moebius.Sai wrote:I think if the choice was between Steam or GOG, it would of been better to of done what the Jane Jensen Kickstarter did. Hmmm...that kind of worries me. I can't help it feel BFG will be a bit undercut by this. I have no use for both a GOG and Steam version. Hell, i'm even getting a boxed copy so even if Steam goes broke and shuts down I still have a copy ready for install. I really want to see more than one Tex game.sam10100 wrote:Hey Joel
It happened to me too. I've got the option to download the full game from gog now in addition to my steam key. I also did the beta testing.
Hahaha, I predicted that oneJoel wrote:Well, technically you still got a raw deal as you didn't get a quality adventure game, you got Moebius.
Anyway apparently some other Kickstarters also did this so seems its a good option for an either/or thing. I only have experience in backing Tex, Jane Jensen and the Space Quest guys and that one isn't launch ready yet (which I don't care about so long as they're still working on it).

Yeah...
But anyway, BFG shouldn't be undercut because majority of us paid higher than 2x the price of the initial product anyway. That premium alone should offset any of that, I feel like we got some value out of that which is good because I've been struggling with seeing the value in my kickstarter contribution thus far. This is a good start, multiple copies is good.
I'm looking forward to when the packages get sent out.
well mine doesn't state I own it any more it has been changed to buy now, although in games folder box it is still sitting there but when you click on it it just shows pre-order.
I ordered a steam copy last night as I didn't want it from gog so now I have 2 steam copies
