Many of you have played in "Gabriel Knight" games. Voodoo Cult members, werewolves, vampires... Now let me introduce a Jane Jensen's new game:

Is it me, or are both of those games a trifle on the pricey side compared to other games these days? I mean, I realize we used to pay $60 for games decades ago, but I haven't paid more than $25 for a game (Tesla Effect excluded of course

) in ages, and most games I've paid under $20.

Chandler, I'm still waiting for the re-release GKgame to go on sale at GOG.
I commend Jensen's newest effort, she does great work. I just wished she'd take a chance and revisit GK and give some sort of ending between the main character and his "sidekick". The Beast Within really set the games up for a possible romance that never was fully explored nor ended.
Just hanging there like a Red Shirt on a doomed planet of an old episode of Star Trek....

By the way, do you like Robert Holmes music in "Gabriel Knight" games?

Hmm.. those look interesting, Alexander. Not sure I could play them until after my kid's bedtime though. And that would make for short game play time (Yes, I can be grumpy in the morning if I don't get enough sleep or a morning cup of coffee!). The graphics on both games look really well done. I am just looking at thumbnail images, but they look good.
Yes, I did like the music of the GK games. To be honest, what I hear often takes precedence over what I see. So if the accompanying music for a movie, game, etc. isn't good, it ruins my experience. It's why I've always enjoyed Tex games. Good music. And to my embarrassment, (wayyyy back when) I even loved the dumb, obviously computerized music for those games, which isn't the norm for me.
One of my little standards for life: If it's fake, get rid of it.
Hence, I'm not a big fan of plastic stuff, most commercial ice cream, and badly developed CGI.

Well, let's buy the games. We must support Jane Jensen. Adventure games are so rare.
