I thought I'd have a go at uploading a pic of me, but it's not working. I've resized it to 149pixels, saved it as 20 kb (max seems to be 21) and as a jpg file. Am I missing something?

Hmm... seems like you're doing everything right, based on what you're describing. Not sure what the problem might be. Is it giving you any kind of error message or anything like that?

Nope, I click the upload button and the page refreshes but there's nothing new on the page. I'll try again tonight and have a play.
Oh, and Adobe finally sorted me out. New version of Photoshop elements on it way, nice people that they are.

Well, David, my avatar really is me - an oil painting done when I was about 20 (a rather good likeness at that), and these days I'm 56. I had trouble getting mine up too, and got some help from Cub.
Harry
PS I figured I'd give you a break and not bug you for a calendar this year. Now, when the next Tex Murphy game is released...

David - When you click 'sunmit' and the avatar does not update, check the top of the profile page. It usually gives a reason for the denial. Something like 'avatar needs to be 150x150' or 'image too large'.
Hey Harry - good to know there's another old guy in the community. I've got 3 years on you, but I appreciate your efforts in catching up.

Jim,
I got too soon old and too late smart. I hope you did things in the right order.
Regards,
Harry

Cheers guys. i tried the other day. No error message but no avatar. with this new adobe photoshop elements I can't resize it to 21kb without it being about 5 pixels across and 7 high, and it's just a very blurry blob now.
I will persevere at some point and get it done. At the moment I save as jpeg scale it down to 1 (adobe had scales for picture quality) and do most other things. I'll get there in the end.
As for Adobe, I got lucky. I found a bug in a program which the website says there is no patch to, just call them and they'll give you an upgrade. I had a US serial number (i'm in the UK) so it caused all sorts of problems but they sorted me in the end (after a few international calls and about 70 emails), so I'm singing their praises.

Nice touch, Vracar.
Hey! How do you like my new avatar? It's a pic that never made it into the game.

A while back I spotted a CD up for auction on Ebay. It was called TMO: Art Work Files. There are several shots on the disc that do NOT appear in the game. I would be happy to send some to anyone who wants them, only, they total about 72 megs.
