Cubase... now running at 16Ghz!

And as usual, my 1.6 Ghz PC runs farther and farther behind...

What are friends for???

Take refuge in knowing that you have Such Smart friends to help you if you ever need it...

Between people like Cub, Nilo, SansGUI, VonFlower and a couple others, I feel a little inferior sometimes myself... It all depends on the Subject at hand...

If we ever have a thread on Metallica I could probably kick everyone's ass! lol

Yeah, I thought my 1.8 Ghz computer was okay until a couple months ago. Now its gutted and sitting alone in an empty room. Sad, but that's how it goes.
Well, the good news is, I was able to pretty much get the entire system running 1:1. Basically this means that all components are at exactly the same speed and none are faster or slower than the other.

This meant increasing the speed of a few things, namely the mainboard and memory speed, which remained stable. But it also meant keeping the CPU at 3.6 GHz instead of 4.0ghz because I was unable to get a stable enough voltage to the CPU core for some reason.

Anyway, it's actually Cubase... now running at 14.4Ghz. lol

-Cub. =o)
Very nice.

Makes me want to upgrade my AMD 3800 X2 box with it's <cough><cough> "overclocked" PC3200 (DDR400) memory.
A sansGUI interface is one that does not have the small features called "Windows". The term comes from the French word sans, meaning "without".

SansGUI's are more typically used in Unix-like Operating Systems. The conventional wisdom is that a GUI (Grapical User Interface) help guide the casual computer user to perform routine tasks with Point and Click simplicity. SansGUI's have acquired considerable acceptance for users accustomed to the CLI (Command Line Interface).
Makes me want to Upgrade Period... lol
