I stopped using skype when when I started getting calls from spammers. Answered the call once & it was a computer voice..... just decided to delete was my best option.

I just joined the group. Looking forward to doing what I can to support Chris and Aaron.

Thanks. I wonder if it switched to private by accident? I could see it without an account before but now it asks me to login to an account. If I login to an account that hadn't yet joined the event it just redirects me to my profile. Plus if I Search Facebook for Tex Murphy or Project fedora it comes up with No Events Found. I could just be missing something simple though since I haven't used Facebook much or glitched.

Oh, wait... no. A pal of mine tried to get in on it and it that link didn't work I guess you have to be invited by someone else who was already invited.

Oh odd that its changed to Invite Only and can't be viewed publically. How many people have confirmed "virtual attendance" so far out of curiosity?

Would someone mind explaining to me what the event on FB is? At first I thought it was an actual event in CA, or something. But is it going to be a live streaming type thing?

I saw when the event was created, but was scouring the BFG FB page and couldn't find it again; that link worked no longer works for me either. If anyone would care to explain it to me, I'd appreciate it!

Basically we're a bunch of nerds sitting in front of a computer trying to talk to each other as the hour approaches.

I don't know much about it either but according to what others have said I think the Facebook thing was just so people could "mark the date" so to speak on their virtual Facebook calender and also to raise awareness as I guess it'll appear on others Facebook walls under Events.

Also a livestream would be totally awesome, I'd love to see one, though I don't think they've ever done one before so I wonder if they know how? But if they would like to ever do a livestream and need any help with it I'm sure the community here would do all they could to figure it out. There should be lots of guides on how to stream a webcam we can dig up.

Ah ok, thanks guys. As I am also I nerd who has been fervently following the BFG FB these past few months, I guess I'll just keep on doing what I've been doing... stalking them on FB.

A live stream would be so cool! But I would be of no help, I don't even know how to use the webcam on my laptop. Thanks again

I think it is more like a online notice that this is happening on May 15th. And it puts it in your FB events as a reminder. (Like I need reminding!) And your friends see you are attending it, and you can write on the event's wall. It does not appear to be visible to everyone to see now, but you can invite friends. So, let me know if you want me to friend you so you can be invited and join it. I haven't seen if they are doing any kind of stream or anything. That would be nice though.

108 attending, 13 maybes, 635 invited. (I'm guessing 600 of those people didn't know what to do either - LOL!)
